Hunith Jallar
(a.k.a. the Heretic)
“Why do we continue to worship the so-called fallen god and his spawn? Have you forgotten the tales that say Herobrine is the reason we were cast down and broken as a species? Why our ancient cities were swallowed by the earth? I say we forget the Blind Shepherd and his Dreamer progeny! If they truly cared for us, we would not have fallen so low as we are now!” -- from record of a speech by Hunith Jallar, source unknown

Personal history
Hunith Jallar was born in the Iron Age, shortly before the end the Fallen Kingdom and great Nether War. Not much of her life is known before her young adulthood. To avoid being married off to a man she despised, Jallar took the veil and joined an Initiaist convent. Contemporary reports from the sitting prioress describe her as "verbally combative" and "a bit of a bully." While at the convent, she butted heads with the prioress over various theological issues. Most infamously, she took issue with Herobrine worship. She considered it immoral to revere a "disgraced" god responsible for the Great Fall. It was during her time at the convent that she developed her sect of Initiaism. It denied the validity of not only Herobrine, but his child Astel as well, describing them as antagonistic to the forces of good. This formed the tenets of the sect that would come to be called the Jallar Heresy.
Initially, Jallar's beliefs did not gain much traction. Then the Fallen Kingdom was attacked by a demon posing as Herobrine and the great Nether War broke out. Her peers became more receptive to her ideas, and soon the Jallar heresy spread not only among her sisters, but outside of the convent as well. It is unclear whether Jallar was expelled from the nunnery or left on her own accord, but she departed from the sisterhood to preach her religion among the public.
The end of the Nether War saw the demon exorcised and possibly destroyed, which appeared as the slaying of Herobrine to the masses. Jallar saw this as vindication and continued her "ministry," believing that she was divinely called to do so. Her fevered preaching is credited with the spread of anti-Herobrine sentiments across the world in the late Iron Age. It may have indirectly led to the martyrdom of St. Aelpheon, actually.
A few years after the close of the Nether War, Hunith Jallar announced to her followers that she was going on a personal quest to defeat Astel. While she herself did not admit as much, the rumour among her following was that she embarked on this quest in case Astel had risen up to avenge their father. Jallar went into self-imposed exile in an unknown wilderness to pursue her quest, and that was the last anyone heard of her. Ostensibly, she died in that exile and her body was never found. As far as we know, that mission of hers to defeat Astel was not accomplished.
