The Wanderer
The Wanderer is a legendary figure in elven mythology, appearing in thousands of traditional tales of the Southern Elves. In most stories, he appears as a nameless cloaked figure, providing aid or encouragement to the hero when necessary.
In reality, there have been a number of supposedly miraculous events in or around major elven cities, after which eyewitnesses claim to have seen a tall, hooded figure slipping away. While the elves are not a speculative people, there has been much debate as to the Wanderer's origins or existence, since no historian or mythologist has yet been able to pinpoint the earliest mention of his deeds. Some claim he is an avatar of Henrich, the god of trickery, while others suspect he was once a mortal elven hero who achieved immortality.
While they outwardly deny his existence, elven diplomats are involved in an ongoing investigation as to the Wanderer's whereabouts and support network. Some investigators even believe that the Wanderer is not one person but multiple, working in secret to keep a legend alive.
