Force Arcana
"Sir, did you hear that? It sounded like..."Force Arcana is a small elite group of arcane spellcasters charged with protecting Candlekeep, and, though it is known only to a few, the Ruby. Formed during the Second Arcane War, the unit was created during the Siege of the Great University, and helped repel the Litherian invasion of Candlekeep. While it was incredibly effective, Force Arcana refused to fight outside of Candlekeep on ethical grounds. Force Arcana's current leader is Culden Silverhand, the Archmage of Candlekeep and a veteran of the Second Arcane War. He is one of seven people in Tilendrel who knows of the Ruby's existence, and is prepared to bring to bear the full power of Force Arcana to protect it. Notable Members
"A thunderclap. We've been fighting the students this whole time. Looks like we finally made the teachers angry..."Exchange between a Litherian soldier and officer during the Siege of the Great University
- Culden Silverhand, Archmage of Candlekeep and leader of Force Arcana. While most members of the group work for it only when called upon, Culden Silverhand has made it his duty to manage and improve the group as much as possible.
- Geralt Stonedeck, foremost runesmith in Candlekeep and keeper of one of its great libraries. Rarely called for active duty, Geralt works for Force Arcana abjuring headquarters or areas of interest with rune networks.
- Handin of the Bladesingers. The only Bladesinger in Force Arcana, Handin was sent to Candlekeep by the Southern Elves as a show of goodwill after the Second Arcane War. He has proven himself a valuable and trustworthy fighter, overcoming the doubts and stigma of his fellow mages.
- Undules Mellotune, one of Hallermin's most notable bards. When not putting on a show, Undules works part-time for Force Arcana, sometimes leveraging his celebrity status to find information or gain access to areas others cannot.
- Tandrus Weldwood. One of the most mysterious of Candlekeep's mages, Tandrus often considers points of view foreign to his comrades. He claims to be a warlock for a powerful patron, the identity of whom he stubbornly refuses to reveal. While this has caused some suspicion among the more cynical of Force Arcana, his expertise both on and off the battlefield is undeniable.
