Criminal Takeover of Tae Dendei

In Frostfall of 2642 ANG, Cenne d'Grezze entered into a deal with Euan Draegard: partial mining rights to Draegard's town, and a number of jobs for d'Grezze's crime syndicate, in exchange for a steady supply of water to the town. Little did Draegard know that he was a pawn in d'Grezze's plan to take over the city.   Buildup   After performing a number of simple jobs for d'Grezze, Draegard was given his true mission: to assassinate Tae Dendei's Council of Four. Draegard was initially unaware of their identities, and killed Khadgar Well before being informed of the truth by Derri, whom he let go. He was then sent after Bruen Vickleberry and Vulluin Skera, both of whom were away from the city. During this time, d'Grezze spread rumours that both were dead and bribed his way to control of the City Guard, closing Tae Dendei's gates to solidify his power. He also ordered the destruction of Draegard's village, presuming him dead and wishing to take all of the local land.   Resolution   Draegard, however was not dead, and returned to the city after killing Skera to find it under d'Grezze's control and his village burning. After saving the remaining townspeople, he and Derri teamed up to sneak into the city and retake control. After killing d'Grezze, Derri took back control of the city's governance and Draegard of d'Grezze's crime syndicate, bringing an end to the takeover.   Impact   The long-term impacts of the takeover have proven hard to predict due to how recently it happened. Draegard has shown little interest in expanding or changing Hulon d'Grezze's activities apart from rebuilding his village, and Derri rules similarly to how the Council of Four once did, though with less of an interest in profit.
