Arturo "Blink Dog" Thitekey
"If they're fast, be faster. If they're strong, be stronger. If they're smart, be smarter. I've yet to encounter any man who is all three."Arturo Thitekey, better known by his moniker 'Blink Dog', is a legendary human thief and spy known for his operations throughout Hallermin and the Dwarven Kingdoms. His exploits include the thefts of several magic items, most notably the Eye of Yiu and one of the three Sun Amulets, as well as government-sponsored espionage on runecraft and other magical secrets. Life Born to a poor family in Everflame City, Thitekey quickly fell in with a gang of thieves and pickpockets, where he became notorious for his habit of going beyond the intended target. Eventually, his ambition came back to bite him when he attempted to rob the visiting Baron of Candlekeep, at the time Alerhan Moji. He was sent to prison for a brief period, but garnered the sympathy of Moji's son, from whom it is believed he learned his magical skills. After an adolescence spent in and out of prison, Thitekey stowed away on a merchant caravan to Tae Dendei, after which he went semi-legitimate, selling his services as a freelance spy to various government agents in the city. The thrill of the heist was too much for him, however, and he was forced to flee the city after a botched attempt to steal a priceless book from the library of Bruen Vickleberry, one of the city's leaders. During his 20s and 30s he operated out of a number of hideouts throughout Western Tilen, including his parents' house. It was then that he committed his most famous heists, earning him a top spot on the wanted lists of Everflame, Gildmire, and the Ironheart Kingdom, as well as a substantial bounty from La Mafiosi. He was eventually caught by a crack team of mages, adventurers, and bounty hunters employed by the Ironhearts and Everflame jointly, surrendering after he fled to his parents' house and they were taken hostage. He is currently serving a 50-year sentence in the Citadel, with his identity protected so as to prevent La Mafiosi's wrath from catching up with him. Methods Thitekey sees himself as a gentleman, preferring to avoid violence where possible and kill only when necessary. He is known to have some magical training, but the extent to which he used it in his crimes is unclear. He has been known to use a variety of weapons, but he favours rapiers and flails, as well as hand-to-hand combat. Some suspect many of his heists were accomplished with the help of a high-ranking accomplice, often a diplomat of some sort, but these rumours are unsubstantiated and Thitekey has denied them under interrogation.Arturo Thitekey.
