Draconic Gazette for April 13

Second Week of Blazereign
“Let flame light the path, but let wisdom guide the step.”

Blazereign Intensifies: Fire Trails and Storm Whispers

As the skies continue to shimmer with the fiery wake of fledgling dragons, townsfolk across the isle gather to celebrate the ancient tradition of Blazereign. In Alaryn Refuge and Ember Watch, children craft winged kites in the shape of their favorite council dragons, while Vaelora’s grand amphitheater hosts storytelling contests and illusion showcases.

However, stormwinds from the northern peaks grow uneasy—Zarythas the Stormcaller has urged vigilance: “The skies are not the only realm where fire stirs.”

Thyraxias Calls the Faithful: Rise of the Skywardens

Thyraxias the Wise, Leader of the Draconic Council, has issued a solemn decree to adventurers of unwavering resolve. The Council seeks battle-hardened warriors, spellcasters, and scholars to pledge their service for a mission of grave importance.

From this call rises a new order: the Skywardens—a class of elite warriors devoted to the will of the Council and the defense of the Isle. Clad in enchanted scale and bearing sigils of skyfire and fang, these warriors have already intercepted several centaur raids near Darkwood and the Shimmering Steps.

An official herald of Thyraxias stated, “The Skywardens are not only sword and spell. They are symbols. Let the centaur hordes know—we do not wait in silence.”

Interested parties are directed to report to Ember Watch or Sanctuary for Skywarden trials.

Manfred's Menagerie: A New Pet and a Council Audience

The ever-enigmatic Manfred the Merchant has drawn crowds in Honeywood with a surprise announcement: a public showcase of his new pet, described only as “not of this world and smarter than most wizards.” The creature, covered by veils and guarded at all times, has already sparked speculation ranging from mimic dragons to planar hybrids.

In a twist that has raised eyebrows and hackles alike, Manfred has secured a private audience with the Draconic Council to present this "family addition." Some worry the creature is tied to the recent sightings of triangular-shaped entities, while others suggest it may be his boldest bargaining chip yet.

Regardless, Honeywood is abuzz—and more than a little nervous.

Tension on the Winds: Centaur Ultimatum Delivered

In a shocking turn of diplomacy, a formal centaur delegation arrived in Vaelora under the ancient banner of parley. After three hours of closed-door deliberation with the Council, the centaur envoy—High Pathfinder Kareth Ironsoul—delivered a stark ultimatum:

“Dissolve the Draconic Council. Return rule to the land and its native people. If you do not, the consequences will not be diplomatic—they will be cataclysmic.”

Council members Pyraxys and Zarythas reportedly left the chamber fuming with elemental fury. Thyraxias offered only one reply:

“We ruled before memory. We shall rule after fire. Let them come.”

Council guards have since increased patrols around Frosthaven Port and Sanctuary. A formal response is expected before the end of the week.

Whispers in the Shadows: The Triangular Watchers Return

More and more citizens from Darkaris, Frosthaven Port, and even the outskirts of Alaryn Refuge report sightings of strange triangular creatures—tall, symmetrical, and flickering just at the edge of sight.

A farmer in Darkwood described one watching him through the mist: “It didn't move like it walked... more like it decided where to be next.”
A scribe in Sanctuary attempted to sketch one, only to find her ink turned to ash.

The Mage Guild has named them “Angular Watchers”, and suspects they are connected to the rising planar instability tied to the northern rift.

Council dragon Almyra the Frostveil warned, “Whatever they are, they are not here by chance. And they are not alone.”

Council in Session: Rumors, Resolutions & Rising Flames

With mounting pressure from the centaurs and the ever-present mystery of the Watchers, the Council sits at the precipice of historic decision-making.

Whispers hint that Sylvara and Almyra advocate for diplomatic solutions, while Pyraxys demands a show of overwhelming might. Thyraxias remains silent—for now.

Flame rises. Shadows gather. The island watches with bated breath.
