Skyfury Begins: Storm Season Descends Upon the Isle

The 6th month, known as Skyfury, has arrived—and with it come violent winds, soaring dragon contests, and unpredictable tempests. Across the skies of Vaelora and Ember Watch, young dragons have begun their traditional aerial rites of challenge and supremacy, circling the clouds with gleaming wings and thunderous roars.

But this year’s Skyfury may not be like the others…

Zarythas Warns of Storms Born from the Mystwoods

Councilor Zarythas the Stormcaller has issued a grave warning: this season’s storms may reach unprecedented fury, fueled by magical instability emanating from the Mystwood.

Recent leyline readings taken near the Veil of Ash and Wails show arcane buildup in the clouds, resulting in twisted lightning, crimson gales, and storms that sing with distant voices.

“When the wind remembers,” Zarythas said, “even the brave must find shelter.”

Manfred Establishes Bastion Near the Vortex Sanctum

The Manfred Magnificent Marauders, newly formed and already infamous, have broken ground on a heavily fortified bastion near the Vortex Sanctum, a magical cyclone long considered impassable by mortal or wyrm.

What has caught the Council’s attention, however, is Manfred’s relocation of a large centaur slave force to the bastion—reportedly to help construct and maintain the settlement. The Council has made no official comment, but whispers of forced labor have begun to spread.

Despite his reclusive nature, Manfred is still selling magical goods—but only through private appointment at his estate within the Merchant Mile proper. All prospective buyers must schedule their visit through an encrypted arcane message.

Disaster Behind Closed Doors? Council Talks Collapse

Tensions rise as rumors swirl of a catastrophic outcome to the secret audience held between Council emissaries and the centaur delegation.

Sources close to Sanctuary say that Thyraxias the Wise was interrupted during a ceremonial audience in Drakaris, where a centaur emissary presented him with a “gift of remembrance”—a glowing blackened egg.

Upon receiving this unsettling egg, Thyraxias reportedly left the gathering in silence, his wings trailing sparks.

The Ashen Voice has been unreachable since.

The Heroes of Honeywood Resurface in Frosthaven Port

After weeks of uncertainty, the Heroes of Honeywood have emerged at last—in Frosthaven Port, where they addressed a divided gathering of Council envoys and town leaders.

Their message was clear: "The centaur cause is just."

The heroes reported on their time in the Ashkar Sands, claimed they witnessed atrocities committed by rogue Skywarden factions, and urged the dragons to seek peaceful integration with the centaur tribes rather than domination.

Their testimony has sparked public debate, and already two towns have called for public forums on the centaur question.

Town Updates Across the Isle

In Honeywood, with news of the Heroes’ return spreading from Frosthaven, Honeywood holds a series of quiet gatherings, lighting lanterns in their honor, though not all agree with their support of the centaur cause. The annual Skyfury Kite Trials were canceled after a bolt of stormfire turned last year’s champion kite into a living drake-construct.

In Darkwood, the roots of Mystwood near the Old Hollow glen have begun to float three feet off the ground, humming softly when the wind picks up.

In Alaryn Refuge, Mages from the city’s Leywatch Guild have been studying storm-surge containment runes, now glowing before storms arrive. Rumors suggest that a fragment of the Ashkar disturbance has drifted into a hidden cistern below the city.

In Darkaris, following the Ashkar shockwave, ley rifts have begun to flicker in and out of sync, revealing glimpses of mirrored versions of Darkaris with inverted colors and reversed writing.

In Sanctuary, The Hall of Healing has declared a temporary “dreamfast”—a cessation of all prophetic rituals, as too many dreamers have returned shaken, repeating the exact phrase: “The sky will open from beneath.”

In Vaelora, the Council Spire remains closed to the public following the disastrous secret audience. Protests sparked outside the western gate, demanding transparency.

In Frosthaven Port, with the Heroes of Honeywood addressing Council agents from the docks, the port city has surged with political fervor. New anti-war rallies and pro-centaur solidarity circles have formed on the Seawatch Steps, drawing speakers, sailors, and spellcasters alike.

In Ember Watch, the Skyfury season has turned Ember Watch into a blazing fortress. Pyraxys remains hidden, but his flame-standards still fly. Training has intensified. The Trial by Flame has been expanded to include storm-fighting drills, where trainees must hold formation through magical tempests.

The Council has released a brief, unified message:

“In storm, we endure. In flame, we rise. The Isle holds its breath, and we shall not falter.”

Thank you for listening to the Voice - wisdom, warning, and wonder from wingtip to wingtip.
