Halirunian Asheater

The Halirunian Asheater is an odd animal to say the least, living in an area that is relatively devoid of any kind of sentient life. They are most often found in the Forest of Colorless Fire and they look like a muscular, fire blackened deer with ash colored eyes and hooves, and thin, spindly horns that look as though they have been burned in a fire. They are named after what they do: they eat the ash left over by the Colorless Fire; stories are told of the creatures standing in the middle of the black inferno, silently grazing on ash and licking the immolated trees. They are completely unharmed and nonplused by the Colorless Fire, and even seem to instinctively know where the fire is going to start next; they will head directly to an area that is in the process of being burnt or will soon be burnt, so those foolhardy enough to travel the forest know that when they encounter an asheater on the move, they should head in the opposite direction.
