The First Angel, They of a Thousand Faces

The very first known god of angels, their original name is lost to time. They are most commonly referred to by their titles, "The First Angel" or "They of a Thousand Faces." They are a trickster god, known for their ability to find and get themself out of trouble in equal measure.

As with many deities, the tales surrounding their origins are often contradictory. Some claim that they were the first angel to ever exist, while others claim that they were a heroic figure who was elevated to deity status. They themself do not seem to know for sure, alternating between both claims seemingly on a whim.

What is known for sure is that they granted angels their powers of precognition. They are the only angel in existence that lacks their characteristic precognitive powers.

They are known to have been involved in the creation of the first known angel civilization, Ibriel. Legend has it that through guile and diplomacy they were able to unite the disparate angel tribes of the time. They became the god-ruler of this budding nation, and legend claims their rule was a good one. How and why their nation fell has long since been lost to time, however, and not even they themself seem to recall how it happened.

Few angels actively worship them, and those that do worship "the first angel" often worship an entity that is technically separate from them. Something that is more of an idea than actually them.

Divine Domains

They are typically associated with three main domains: Trickery, Fate, and Protection. The latter comes from viewing them as a protector of angelkind. Fate comes from their historical granting of prophetic powers to angelkind.
