Dragon Shifters

Basic Information

Anatomy

They have the ability to shift between fully human looking to fully dragon looking. They can also merge the two at will for short periods of time. This can include forked tongues, dragon eyes and sharp teeth which can be used for dramatic effect.

Growth Rate & Stages

While young they age at the same pace as a human in both forms, it is only when they are older that aging slows to a dragons pace.

Ecology and Habitats

They often prefer to live in rural areas, where they are able to live out of the way with the space required to stretch their wings when the urge strikes them. Often, they will choose to live in mountainous areas where true dragons live as they will be able to blend in better in their dragon form.

Dietary Needs and Habits

While in human form they eat as humans do, although they do require a more meat based diet than most humans in order to fuel their dragon side.

In dragon form they kill and eat their food as dragons do, often consuming prey whole before regurgitating their bones.

Behaviour

They are not very social creatures, preferring to live in their own territory. Male dragons and dragon shifters will have a larger territory than the females and it often overlaps with several female territories. Female dragons and dragon shifters have smaller territories where they live with their young until they reach maturity when they will be forced to leave and find their own territories.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Even while human they retain their dragon-like sense of hearing and smell which can be both useful or distracting.

They have a better sense of sight than most dragons due to their human reliance on them.

Conservation Status
Legally, they are not meant to exist. Most spend their time as either all dragon or all human, those who pass as human are still required to be recorded and marked as less than human.
