Demographics

The Southern Midlands were settled by human kingdoms from Yaldica and normally hold a majority within the region. At least 60% of the population within Bridgeford are human of some background. The remaining percentages are dwarven and elven mostly, although it isn't rare to see a different species walking about. The residents of Bridgeford happen to be the most wealthy on average. This is mostly due to residents of the Northern District, which happen to be older members of society. There are plenty of opportunities for someone to find work that gives a livable wage. Many natural resources are within reach and processing power is great.

Government

The city came under the ownership of Ompus by private means. He wasted no time managing its affairs, spending entire days arranging his administration one person at a time. He divided the city into 4 districts based on their locations. Each district has a government building which oversees the populace in their areas which are could the "Locals". Each Local has a Chief Administrator that directs activities. If an issue were to arise, each CA will gather in an attempt to resolve the matter on their own. If the matter is too great for the 4 to handle themselves then they request a meeting with Trade Baron Ompus who makes the executive decision.   The Locals and the CAs are citizen based and are more focused on building projects, solving disputes under the law, road repair, and citizen complaints. The military is prestigious, maintaining their own academy of war within the northern district. There is the BridgeFord Guard which maintains order, patrols the walls, and stations at entrances to the city. There are other military entities, that are not kept on paper. These entities perform specific tasks which Ompus needs done, these positions are only for the most skilled and brave soldiers that climb the ranking system.

Defences

The BridgeFord Internal Defense (BFID) acts as a special investigative force within the city.    Each District has a plaza for festivals and every plaza contains a tower. The towers are HQs for the cities more specialized law enforcement activities. The Northern Tower is the cities strongest domestic task force. Those that trained within the Academy and served at least 5 years in the field. A position here is of great veneration. The main purpose of these officers is defensive operations while under siege, VIP escorts, and spying on targets of interest within the city. The Western Tower is more involved with the public. Their focus involves education, health & wellness, and advice. Officers within this tower are individuals that have a studied background. Often times they will hold lectures free to the public. For those looking for come coins they, will hire to tend the gardens throughout the city. They also purchase reagents. Their emphasis is on making peoples lives better through uplifting them. The Southern Tower focuses on counter intelligence. Disguised agents are always looking the newest hideout. Those of this tower attempt to keep their finger on the pulse of the city. Once a target is found they assess from a distance before attempting to gain entry into the growing organization. Once infiltrated, the agent attempts to see how far the groups reach is before shutting it down in a grand operation. From thieves to cults, they are ever vigilant. The Eastern Tower's primary goal is to weed out forged trade goods. The Trade Barons pride themselves in ensuring a safe place to conduct trade and these officers are those assurances manifested. These officers are regularly enlisted from merchant guilds and sworn under the banner of the Trade Lands to safeguard transactions. They also must check gambling establishment for fairness, often working a table as a team. When requested they will notarize contracts and witness signings. Their primary goal is to enforce fairness in the art of trade within the city. Each tower works as a separate structure from the military or government. Each lead figure speaks directly to the Trade Baron of the city to receive orders and to brief him of current events. Special emblems allow them to move freely within the Citadel.   The city itself is built along a large rocky river on the eastern side. A reinforced bridge crosses this river and is the sight of a final stand that broke the offensive assaults of Varden. Walls were constructed to secure the city, with farms settlements peppered outside.

Industry & Trade

Stone and lumber are within reach of BridgeFord, the rocky hills do not provide much farmland and the turbulent river makes it dangerous for fishing on boat. Work camps are protected by city guards and escort deliveries to and from. This gives BridgeFord the opportunity to build and sell all sorts of crafts, furniture, and building materials. The city also contains a trading district where merchants can set up shop, which allows city traders to obtain harder to reach goods, materials for higher end products.

Infrastructure

Ompus has turned this city from a resource city to a city of production. He has orchestrated the construction of the foreboding walls around and through the districts. Touring the Southern district one could find skilled workers making specific goods, such as furniture, dyed cloth, and leather. The Western Districts Tower has ensured that there are well kept parks within the city. Within the Northern District are high class products such as clothes, jewelry, and cutlery. Also the northern nobels are currently working on installing sit rooms for the new sewage system that is currently in production.

Geography
