Nuada
King of the gods
Nuada is the king of gods and a great warrior but has no divine domain of his own. Nevertheless, he rules over the powerful gods on the merits of his wisdom, his sense of justice and his accomplishments in conquering their positions as gods. He makes fair and just laws for himself and the other gods to obey. Even the creator gods who make all the natural laws of the world on a whim follow most rules out of respect.
During their war with a particularly fierce tribe of entities in their battle for godhood, Nuada lost one of is arms. According to the laws he himself had made a king f the gods must be whole and these he was no longer fit to rule. The other gods did not accept this as easily as he did and Goibniu forged a silver arm for him that worked exactly like the one he'd lost while Dian Cécht helped him to attach it. In the end, he remained the king of the gods but gave up his domains to the others.

"Nuadu's hand was cut off in that battle—Sreng mac Sengainn struck it from him. So with Credne the brazier helping him, Dian Cecht the physician put on him a silver hand that moved as well as any other hand."-Cath Maig Tuired, trans. By Elizabeth A. Gray
