Belenus
God of fire and light (a.k.a. Bright One)
Belenus is a god of fire and light mostly worshipped around the equator. This places him among the middle-ranked gods under Brigid. There is also a small number of settlements that worship Belenus as a sun god.
Being one of the middle-ranked gods under Brigid, those who bring him offerings often do so while offering to Brigid and vice versa. In the countries that revere Belenus, they will always pray to him for anything that has to do with fire, light or warmth unless there is a local minor god that could fulfil the same task.
Divine Domains
The bulk of Belenus's followers live around the equator which is naturally where most of his temples can be found.
His divine domain is that of fire, light and warmth. Therefore it doesn't seem strange that some settlements have tacked on the title of the sun god as well. He also has a strong association with horses although they aren't attributed to him. Belenus's domain can bring both destruction and protection, something that is heavily represented in the rituals that involve invoking his power and the imagery used by separate temples.

Divine Symbols & Sigils
Belenus rides a golden carriage through the sky pulled by horses made of flame. Those early devotees who saw this imagery were so impressed that they immortalized it in the symbol they use.
This fire god's symbol is a burning wheel with six spokes. Those followers who are rich often have symbols made of gold or inlaid with rubies. The worshippers with a more modest income instead opt to have the symbol carved out of red or yellow stone or simply paint a wooden version in the desired warm colours.
In some countries, possessing this symbol in a blue, white or green variety is seen as blasphemy and punishable by law.
Holidays
Belenus's main holiday is on the 1st of may, Beltane. On this day a ritual is performed that purifies the cattle from evil spirits (bad vibes). This ritual requires the cattle to spend a day either within a circle made from blessed/ holy flame or to stay inside a barn where the blessed flame burns in a secured brazier.
In order to fulfil this ritual and gain the holy fire the people pray and bring offerings to Belenus.

It was the strangest sight. I watched as the holy flame Belenus had granted chased a bull across the field. It wasn't until the fire out sped the bull that the beast yelped and turned into a tiny red devil. The fiend had been hiding among my cattle!
Physical Description
Specialized Equipment
Belenus owns two flying and golden carriage. Most often he rides the Sulky carriage, a one-person carriage designed for racing. It is always drawn by one of his fire horses.
The other carriage is only taken out on special occasions that require him to fight. It is a gladiator carriage drawn by both Lahab and Daw'. For extra dramatic effect, its wheels are usually on fire. This is likely the carriage that determined his divine symbol.
Social
Hobbies & Pets
Belenus owns two horses made of fire which he picked up from the elemental plane of, you guessed it, fire. These horses are called Lahab (flame) and Daw' (light).
The horses are nearly identical to each other. It's a good thing they each seem to answer to only one name.
