Voidlit Citadel

A virtual universe simulation map set in a spooky, exotic structure filled with large floating islands and objects.

The Voidlit Citadel is a massive, mostly stone brick structure resembling old, primitive castles. It has a strong Taidakic Field, so Taidakic airships are often used in the Voidlit Citadel. The map also contains no ground other than the floating objects and any structures which may strut out from the walls. Each room can be several kilometers in length or width, and the hallways even longer. As such, battles would typically happen at shorter ranges and ambushes became fairly common, so many teams have started sending reconnaissance forces from behind cover before sending any warships to become exposed. There are also a number of larger rooms but these are more rare.

The Voidlit Citadel is lit from the bottomless pits as well as the sky, several lantern posts around the map and bioluminescent microbes. This gives the map a mostly black and white colour theme, broken by the several light sources which are all yellow-tinted. The immense stone bricks seemingly used to construct this ancient structure are all significantly larger than a human and are of a very dark grey colour. A cement-like material is applied between every brick and is of a mostly white colour. This can cause some less worm walls to resemble a sort of white grid in the dark.

The citadel is a fairly complex map because of its geometry and many strategies have been tried here. It remains as a fairly popular arena for virtual universe war games, and sometimes it is even used for real HF military forces to test how adaptable a unit is. It is mostly used for entertainment and sports. The fairly low light levels can be a hazard when some specific battles with lower technology are used, such as the primitive Taidakic airships used before the information era of the Unification War, as well as when biological creatures are used to fight rather than machines.
