Ungulal Class Drone Carrier
A relatively small, inexpensive drone carrier used by the Grand Artanat Empire.
The Ungulal is designed to be used in large numbers, like most GAE starships, and also to launch a massive number of drones. Under this doctrine, the ship can store a lot of drones for its size, and some of them are even stored externally. However, the carrier is not designed to retrieve drones, so what it does launch are likely not going to come back. Due to this, it can be difficult to use effectively, but it does allow the GAE to field immense numbers of drones that can be used as a collective swarm unit effectively. It also does not need to refuel drones because of this (though it can refuel allied ships) which gives it a surprisingly large operational range and sometimes drones are used as missiles, so they also have a warhead mounted inside them too which can also be used as a self destruct warhead.
Unfortunately, should these warheads detonate while in the carrier, it can create a massive chain reaction that can destroy the carrier. They are always escorted by allied GAE ships due to this, and their weak armour (which gives them more speed and operational range).
Power Generation
It is powered by a high power fusion reactor that expels deuterium as exhaust and byproduct. It also comes with a high volume hydrogen tank near the reactor, which is what provides the ship with its large operational range.
Propulsion
The carrier is propelled by several large fusion reaction drives, which are fed fuel from the same tank as the fusion reactor. These drives can produce a large force and propel the mostly low mass ship at high acceleration. Similar but smaller fusion reaction drives are placed in various locations on the exterior and used as RCS thrusters, but most of the focus has been put on the main drive as orientation is not important for launching drones.
Armor and defense
The ship is weakly armoured and shielded to save on mass. What armour it does have is only really capable of protecting it against small ships like some corvettes. It also has a decent PDC network.
