Slipspace Traveler

Populations of people that live in the Slipspace universe outside of the Fortrais Galaxy Cluster. They are known to be able to travel into the universe or out at will, which can very easily allow them to travel to any location within the pocket universe.

Slipspace travelers are, naturally, very skilled with using their slipspace drive which is more advanced than the precursor archaeotech rarely seen in Fortrais, which in turn is likely the most advanced technology in the entire universe. Travelers have only been seen on rare occasions, but they are wanted by virtually all factions that have seen them because travelers very rarely conform to other factions rules. For example, they can sometimes be seen in highly secret star systems or even violating laws of some factions. They see themselves as owners of the respective universes they live near, and as such they feel like they have a right to do whatever they want. Other factions also would like to capture them to interrogate them about the extremely advanced slipspace drives and about slipspace in general. They all know about the World Machines, which are entirely unknown to any faction within the universe with the Fortrais cluster.

Sometimes, they might be seen fighting for or against specific factions depending on the preference of the Traveler. Their starships can be harmed by regular faction weapons, even from items such as the HF photon cannons, because the rest of a Traveler starship other than their slipspace drives are not as advanced as expected, an anomaly that many factions are interested in studying. As such, although their ships are known to be incredibly durable, they can also be destroyed. They are likely to retreat before this happens. However, there are also recorded incidents of them diplomatically making deals with inhabitants of Fortrais, including with the @lhf. It is unknown if the Travelers were the ones responsible for creating some species, but the age of their society is not known, nor can it even be approximated. Time in slipspace might apply differently from that in Fortrais.

They are also known to take on many appearances. It is thought that they have a highly diverse population with many species, but it is not known if they actually disguise themselves as other species sometimes because they are very poorly known. There have been records of travelers appearing like some known species, such as Suon and Banfranal, and even Gwell. If they are a multi species society, it is not known how many species they have or how they get them. Some species are unknown, and might be from other universes. Personalities and goals of individuals can also vary massively to the point where they do not resemble a single unified society, although they seem to be one as they do not seem to have many conflicts in Slipspace.

To obtain energy and matter to sustain their society, they have to take materials from either the World Machines or the universes which populate Slipspace. They can travel between these universes despite the immense distance involved, and bring a large amount of supplies between universes.
