Rikavi Ancients
Ancient precursor faction. Before the Starsong Incident, their homeworld was in Arcturus.
In a desperate attempt to retreat from the lifeform energy barrier, they built an interdimensional portal and fled through it. While they survived because if this, it came at a horrible price, their homeworld. Other precursor factions tried to find it, to no success. Now, the younger factions which currently exist are still trying to find it.
Back in their prime, they processed the incredibly powerful capability to bring souls directly to and from The Void. Casualties became meaningless as the Rikavi would just revive them. Using the opposite function of this technology, they also managed to conquer a large portion of the void before the Starsong incident. However, due to the time it takes to shift between the 2 realms, they still could only barely compete with the @[Scattershap e](vehicle:c98c30db-1f04-4f79-b63b-5f6362787c08)s of the Xadia Ancients. These 2 powers were roughly as strong as each other.
Their larger structures often make heavy use of gravity manipulation fields. One can walk on them in ways that seems to defy gravity. Even within a strong natural gravitational field, one can walk on the roof or on walls.
The Rikavi believed that the precursors should be the rightful rulers of the universe for eternity, in stark contrast to the views of the Xadia who believed the younger species and factions should rule. The Xadian views largely angered the Rikavi, causing the Xadia - Rikavi War which no side could win as casualties were virtually meaningless to both sides. Their ruler has, notably, ruled for millions of years because of Rikavi revival technology. This makes them incredibly experienced but the Rikavi have not changed much as a society. Their technology can be easily distinguished from other precursors because it mostly resembles dark geometric shapes with purple or pink glowing patterns, often in highly complex shapes. Strange prisms are often seen. It is not known why they built their technology in this way but it does make them incredibly distinctive.
