Repository Coordinator

Coordinators were tasked with coordinating repository construction projects in the final several generations of the organic Zikrat species of the pre-space Zikrat Scientific Citizenry. This rank was very high but a less well known fact was that they were not paid as much as most other jobs of roughly this rank. However, they would have a guaranteed place in any repository they wanted to enter, as long as they have managed the particular repository.

Though this profession no longer exists, many people once aspired to be coordinators. These people soon became known as heroes through history, and the names of most coordinators would be recorded in virtually every repository along with several of their life achievements. Though this would not turn out to be the case in reality, no one at the time could have thought the true repository age would turn out the way it did, so the profession was viewed as heroic despite the comparatively small demand preventing most people from actually becoming coordinators. Due to this, only the most skilled or qualified individuals were selected. To become a Coordinator, one would need advanced engineering and management degrees and with a history of leading large scale projects.

As a beginner Coordinator, one is often assisted by more experienced Coordinators because of the surplus workforce available. After this, though, they are expected to perform excellently. They will earn badges for starting work as a coordinator, and as they get more experienced they will be promoted to higher ranks. Though this has few benefits outside of bragging rights and slightly higher pay, though they will be subject to more advanced and complex jobs, and more important jobs. As the population is fairly clustered in large cities, such important and complex jobs are more likely to be near repository group projects near cities.

Though they are not paid significantly more than an average worker of the time, they are still held with high regards by the population. To earn this position takes extreme dedication to defeat the many competitors. Very few people earn this position.

Through history, this task has not existed for longer than several generations, the time it took to build all the repositories standing at the beginning of the Repository Age. As such, there is not much history involved in the role, so it has not changed much, other than perhaps the sheer scale and advancements of technology of the repositories which tended to both increase slightly over time

Coordinators also came to be known as repository high managers, or group managers, or executives.

In the end, thousands of these structures were built in every sector around the globe. Coordinators would sometimes also manage already-built repositories and allow them to operate at maximum efficiency as they handle the large populations they are designed to digitally house.
