Oblivion of the Stars

A large Freelancer Starship that is aligned towards the HF.

Oblivion of the Stars (OOTS, or sometimes called "Boots") is best known for it's incredible skill in combat and heavy firepower. OOTS has a wide variety of weapons for almost all roles and ranges, but is relatively weakly armoured. OOTS is also slower compared to other freelancers of it's size, however, remains significantly faster in almost all regards than 'regular' HF starships. They mostly resemble a long cylinder with a large amount of weapons, allowing it to fire at targets at many angles, and do so effectively, with a large number of weapons. To fire at targets towards their front, they have a spinal weapon with a small amount of rotation, able to fire at any point within a 15° angle. It has some sections which are wider than the rest of the ship, to allow more armour around vital components such as antimatter reactors and the photon thrusters. Its firepower makes it very hard to kill as most incoming projectiles are destroyed with various types of CIWS, especially missiles. One of their favorite weapons are large railguns with high muzzle velocity. These are highly versatile and can be loaded with many different types of ammunition for a variety of roles.

Due to the extreme intelligence of freelancers, OOTS is often the leader of a group of starships several hundred strong. Sometimes, they would help higher commanders with their task but do not plan on becoming a full commander themselves. As it has fought in many battles for thousands of years, OOTS is very experienced. They understand very well the behavior of organic-crewed starships and can predict their movements somewhat accurately. Their intelligence can be expanded if they interface with a Matrioshka Brain, but those megastructures are very large and expensive. Freelancer Starships can only outsource a small part of a matrioshka brain, however that still amounts to a huge amount of computational power.

Like many freelancers, OOTS is curious about organic life and may fly quite close to organic-built starships, especially bioships and Troznux. They have stored archives of many different species of the HF as well as many others and likes to record their (often inefficient) behavior. They also like to impress the organics and has something of a 'god complex' when communicating to them. They are usually willing to show their incredible power to any organics that could be impressed by its actions, which can sometimes put them in danger if there are too many enemy starships. Despite this, they secretly look up to S.R.I.A, and those 2 freelancers have become friends despite their different wartime doctrines.
