MBT-48
A tank of the Ooblar nation. This was designed for use during the mid-late Tebburus Unification War, and is largely obsolete by current standards. It was very powerful for it's time however and had a significant influence on tank design during the information era.
It featured very well-sloped armour that gave it a small profile and often deflected incoming rounds. This was also the first ever tank built using a form of highly advanced non explosive reactive armour. Lined with layers of various materials to counter many kinds of weapons.
Other nations would encounter the highly reactive armour which would perform excellently at keeping the tank well defended. This incredible protection was terrifying to many other nations, so they sought out to try and replicate it. Initially this would prove very difficult as the Ooblarans had a very strict protocol to destroy any abandoned tanks to prevent enemy capture but as some nations began to successfully capture a small number of MBT-48s, their understanding of this highly revolutionary armour improved. They found many layers of various materials, designed to defend against all kinds of attacks explaining how they can resist many high explosive warheads so effectively. Other nations began adopting a similar armour scheme, but not before the several month massive Ooblar advantage over their enemies, allowing them to capture a large amount of terrain around their location on the planet, possibly being a key reason why they were so powerful by the fusion age.
It also uses a larger and more fuel hungry diesel engine, capable of moving the 80 ton tank at 70 km/h.
Its primary weapon, a 142mm smoothbore cannon, is aimed by a computer called a fire control system. This weapon has a surprisingly high fire rate as its autoloader can load the weapon even while the turret is turned. This autoloader also rapidly loads the weapon.
