Lazollan Lava Tides

One of the greatest dangers of living on Lazolla , Tiact are the large tides of lava that sometimes devastate large areas of land, especially closer to the coasts.

The tides are caused by several celestial bodies, but most significantly Haxis which forms a binary system with Lazolla, as those two planets have roughly equal mass. Tiact itself can also cause lava tides, but due to the sheer distance this is more rare. Sometimes, Tiact and Haxis can combine to form even greater tides, as well as the several moons of both Lazolla and Haxis.

All of the local life had to adapt accordingly, so that they could withstand the immense temperatures of lava contact or to preemptively retreat from the lava. Many plants have evolved the former, while most animals have evolved the latter. Suons themselves are warned by several weather agencies which constantly monitor the planet and its conditions, so that they will remain away from beaches during dangerous times or wear protection and survive contact with lava. This data is obtained through a satellite network as well as structures on all of these bodies (including Tiact, using QEN machines to remain cool). Despite this, some unpredictable behavior can happen rarely which can lead to deaths. Lava tides is also a key reason why virtually all technologies on the planet have to be lava resistant, probably via QEN machines. Though this makes it possible to construct houses quite close to the coast or even large pontoon cities, this is normally avoided because of the danger to the people themselves.

Depending on the time and conditions, the lava level can rise dramatically to a height 50 m or more above normal height, so most of the population lives well above this altitude. Much of the planets geometry are large hills and mountains. The tide can also fall by a similar amount when the various tide manipulators are located on the other side of the world, allowing people short opportunities to explore what is normally under the lava. This extreme tide variation also has a large impact on boats, as dockyard structures have to be able to accommodate this massive variation.

The phenomenon happens far less on the poles of the planet as well, so a significant amount of the population might also live on the poles for a more peaceful life. It is also often cooler on the poles as well, which is much more optimal for 'normal' life.

A lot of lava is also extracted on the planet as well, using a number of large mining stations which separate the lava into various atomic elements for use in matter plasma, which is teleported to several matter plasma storage stations in orbit. These facilities can benefit from these lava tides, as even when fully submerged they will function with a much higher efficiency when there is more lava available to harvest, though some waste materials are released by these kinds of mining platforms, normally some more common materials such as rock. These mining platforms can also be used as monitoring buildings.
