First Battle of SRIA

The first real battle that S.R.I.A has ever fought in.

The First Battle of SRIA is surprisingly well known despite being a small scale fight because it has shown the potential of its combat ability, which inspired other sentient robots to become more similar to SRIA by adopting starships as their bodies. From there, the term Freelancer Starship was born.

At the time, SRIA resembled a Boson - Class Destroyer very closely, but this was not known to the Cypher Dominion forces who were attacking a HF station located on the fringes of the Ilioneus galaxy. Alone, SRIA faced a significant CD force and was urged to retreat but much to the surprise of many hyperionite commanders, SRIA declined and decided to attack the CD force.

Among the CD force was 2 carrier strike groups, consisting of 2 carriers each, 2-3 cruisers, 4 destroyers and 4 frigates all escorting the carriers. The CD forces initially treated it as a regular Boson, only taking a small number of ships out of formation to defeat it as it was believed this would be easily enough to defeat a Boson. However, they largely underestimated SRIA's immense speed, and the Boson managed to execute an extremely fast corkscrew maneuver past the CD carrier escorts while taking few hits. The CD forces were confused because they thought the immense g-forces that it executed would have killed the crew. However, after getting past the escorts, SRIA unexpectedly flipped itself and pointed its main engine directly at one of the CD carriers and started slowing itself down massively, on overdrive. The immense energy released by its engine caused the tar get carrier to heat up to immense temperatures in a short time, destroying the ship quickly.

By the time the escorts launched to destroy SRIA at the start have turned around to engage SRIA, and the escorts left behind have advanced forwards enough to get SRIA within their range, SRIA soon performed another maneuver while firing at the closest frigates using its photon cannons from long range. The CD forces try firing a number of high maneuverability missiles at SRIA along with a significant fighter wing but SRIA destroyed most of the missiles with its photon cannons before executing another burn launching itself towards the enemy carriers and causing the missiles to follow it. While at very short range, SRIA fires its own missiles at the carriers which do not have time to intercept SRIA's missiles. The missiles launched by the CD carriers, still following SRIA which is now behind the CD carriers, crash into several different CD ships and destroying most of the shields of the fleet. SRIA took many hits in this maneuver, so its shields were drained heavily but still operational. One missile managed to avoid the CD carriers, but SRIA's photon cannons managed to destroy it easily. With a fraction of the fleet's shields down, SRIA started firing at the downed ships with railguns and its spinally mounted Starlight photon cannon. They have caused damage to enemy systems, inhibiting their fighting ability. At this point, the CD forces wanted to retreat, but SRIA was much faster than any of the CD ships.

Many CD ships broke formation in attempts to retreat, but SRIA easily blocked the path. Some of the ships that SRIA was shooting at moments ago began to regenerate their shields partly, but were heavily damaged which made it much harder for them to continue fighting. For example, the shield generators of some of the ships were destroyed.

SRIA then proceeded to ram one of the retreating carriers. This was to cause it to suddenly jolt in the collision and throw its crew around the inside of the ship, but it also ended up damaging a number of critical systems. SRIA designed itself to withstand such impacts, and merely turned around and fired at the carrier with its Starlight photon cannon. SRIA was, however, the smaller object during the impact and as such its structure took much more stress and this maneuver damaged its armour heavily. SRIA was in incredible pain, but has managed to destroy almost the entire CD fleet at this point, and could easily finish off the rest using weapons with very long range.

After the battle, the first thing SRIA did was repair itself, making use of its Planck-Dismantlement Beam to refuel its antimatter supply and restock its matter plasma supply so that it could repair itself. It then reported back to the station that it set out to defend and though the HF high command punished it for not following orders (SRIA refused a retreat order at the start), it proved to serve as a testament to the potential of this new type of being, a huge advantage which was much needed by hyperionite forces.

Even to this day, the battle is still revered as the point where freelancers have truly proven their power, and some of the maneuvers that SRIA performed here have even been learned by organic ship crews for use in some specific situations which has improved their ability to fight even in overwhelming odds. The CD also learned from this encounter that even lone HF ships that seem very ordinary could have some hidden incredible capability. The CD general in charge of those forces sent to attack the station has even congratulated the singular Boson in destroying his entire force.
