Duskus Diffusion

An exotic weather pattern that can happen on Duskus in very specific conditions.

Diffusion sometimes happens when Tiact undergoes a solar flare. Matter released by the star can cause some pure metals within Duskus to magnetise which interferes with the planets magnetosphere slightly. This can cause matter captured by the magnetosphere to fall in several specific locations around the small moon, in an event that closely resembles the Aurora Borealis. This looks different however, due to the complexity of the local magnetic field during these events, which can attract tourists. This seems to be one of the most significant tourist attractions, as Duskus is mostly dark asteroid craters and otherwise featureless.

This type of weather pattern could also have unpredictable effects on some computers, though more modern computers are well insulated and protected from external magnetism in general, and this is no longer a problem.

There is a mining operation here which can also be impacted by diffusion. Perhaps surprisingly, it is not the nanobots that are effected because they are well protected from EMPs. Instead, it is the plasmatic mining bores, which rely on intensely controlled plasma to drill large holes in the ground. The plasma is steered by precise magnetic field control, and diffusion can mess with that.

The phenomenon has been used by both Suons and Saelians during the eve of the Suon-Saelian War in order to disrupt the electronics of the other side and then take advantage of the enemies' relative defencelessness.
