Bians

Biara was a large archipaleigo of islands on Sinus, the Trevan homeworld. This large area of islands all contained one large culture of trevans, because access was quite easy between them by the time they had boats. They had a darker brown of skin tone, and were renowned for being quite tough. They also liked to decorate their carapace with patterns.

They traded enough to form alliances across almost the entire island cluster, and their alliance was an incredibly close one. Their cultures eventually merged into one strong one. They became a fairly powerful nation despite the lack of building area, even managing to construct a significant number of nuclear weapons before the Sinus Nuclear War. In the war, they fired all of these.

After the nuclear war, the islands were devastated. The water was no longer possible to cross as it became far too hot and radioactive and the intense radiation was causing some lifeforms in the oceans to mutate to huge sizes. They would thus need larger boats to cross now. The water level has reduced though, to the point of allowing people to walk between some closer islands. Almost everyone remained within the nuclear shelters for thousands of years while the outside decayed ever further. By the time it was safer to leave the shelters, the entire island cluster was covered in rubble and wreckages, resources to possibly rebuild with. The threat of mutated predators was high, as was that of other shelters who needed resources to survive, so it was still relatively dangerous. Different nuclear shelters would sometimes raid each other for resources.

It took them a lot longer to rebuild than most other areas of the planet. This is mostly because water travel was difficult and there was little stable land on the islands left, though over time the areas that were under the water have solidified and slowly became viable building ground. This allowed them to build structures and develop so that they could remove and recycle the wreckages. By the time they finally became strong enough to arrive back on the planetary scene, other cultures already began to unify into the Trevan Alliance in hopes to prevent another nuclear war ever happening again, and the bian culture also wanted to prevent this so they eventually joined.
