Ancient Jeskuaran

Ancient language from the Tebburus continent of Jeskuar which has an influence in the modern languages.

Ancient Jeskuaran as a language was mostly eradicated following the Saelian Coalition invasion of Tebburus and the subsequent Tastein and Ooblar invasions. However, many Jeskuaran raids on virtually every other nearby nation has influenced their languages. Perhaps most significantly, a number of idioms of modern suon languages came from ancient Jeskuaran. Currently, that language is well documented and in a very usable state despite its obsolete nature, and some might end up learning the language. Even some scientific terms might be derived from ancient Jeskuaran terms for ease of understanding across several language barriers.

Some of these idioms include:

'Performing a Janrall'
To scare others. Janrall is a town that is best known for the haunted house, which is scary to most people. "You're performing a Janrall!" "These enemy forces are performing a Janrall on us."

'May the stars smite'
To wish someone good luck before battle, often naming the enemy. Often also used in games or simulated wars. "May the stars smite our enemy, the Cypher Dominion!" "The stars shall smite the Grand Artanat Empire!"

'Great Kraelat!'
Expression that expresses surprise or, more rarely, intrigue. Kraelat was the name of an ancient Jeskuaran king who conquered large areas of land before being killed by an enemy force. "Great Kraelat! Where did you come from?!" "I am excited, Great Kraelat, make this happen!"

'Rule the Stars'
To assert dominance over someone else, often a nation. Often also used in gaming or in war simulations. Sometimes this idiom can be confused for its literal meaning in modern times, because now the suons are a spacefaring species. "Surrender now, I rule the stars." "I own most of the map, I rule the stars!"

'Finding stars in Irvoern'
Depending on context or exact wording, either to emphasise that something is impossible or to express surprise at an extremely unlikely outcome. Irvoern is an extremely massive cave system the size of a major continent, featuring its own population and government at the time. As such, stars wouldn't be visible from Irvoern. "He's trying to find stars in Irvoern." "Impossible! I found stars in Irvoern!"

(note: Although "the stars" features prominently in ancient Jeskuaran idioms, this specific term is actually global; many suon cultures have come up with it on their own, even before the unification war! In modern terms, it actually refers to the Pyre of Stars when used in these contexts. However, the idioms listed here involving this term are Jeskuraran.)
