Epiphany, Bolt of Keranos

Weapon (Javelin), artifact (requires attunement)   Epiphany is a legendary weapon wielded by Keranos, God of Storms. It is said to contain the power of lightning and the secrets of the universe.   Stormcaller's Focus. Epiphany functions as a javelin. It crackles with electricity and emits a faint aura of enigmatic energy. Its damage type is lightning.   Gift of the Riddles. If you are a follower of Keranos, you gain the following benefits based on your level of devotion:   Piety 10+

• The javelin gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.
• You have resistance to lightning damage.
• You can cast the Detect Thoughts spell at will.

  Piety 25+

• The javelin gains an additional +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.
• When you hit with an attack using the javelin, the target takes an extra 1d8 lightning damage.
• You have advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) and Wisdom (Perception) checks.
• The javelin has 1 randomly determined minor beneficial property.

  Piety 50+

• The javelin gains an additional +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.
• When you hit with an attack using the javelin, the target takes an additional 1d8 lightning damage.
• The javelin has 1 randomly determined major beneficial property.

If you are not a follower of Keranos, the javelin has 1 randomly determined minor detrimental property and 1 major detrimental property, both randomly determined.   Stormweaver's Power (Requires Level 12 or Piety 10+). While the javelin is on your person, you can use an action to cast one of the following spells (save DC 18): lighting bolt (at 5th level), storm sphere, or chain lightning. Once you use the javelin to cast a spell, the spell can’t be cast again from it until the next dusk.   Riddler's Enigma (Requires Level 15 or Piety 25+). You can cast the Mind Blank spell from the javelin, but only on yourself. Once used, this property of the javelin can't be used again until the next dawn.   Thundergods Fury (Requires Level 17 or Piety 50+). You can cast the Storm of Vengeance spell from the javelin, lasting for four turns. Once used, this property of the javelin can't be used again until the next dawn.   Destroying the Bolt. To destroy Epiphany, it must be broken into three pieces and cast down to the earth by an elder Tempest.
