Spark-Lance
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
A Spark-Lance is a polearm (6–8 ft) whose head houses a focusing prism and a small alchemical retort which are effective at close-combat. When ritually keyed, it emits a tight, sun-white spark-thread, a two-to-three-second lance of sanctified foxfire that sears exactly where the wielder is looking.
Manufacturing process
The process of manufacturing involves typically three main components:
- Haft: Ash or sea-oak with brass spine where dwarven patterns use rune-inlaid basalt ferrules.
- Head: sky-quartz pirsm over an orichalcum retort; mica safety gate; leather breath-bellows.
- Sparks: The 'fuel', which is sealed ampoules of paired reagents: sun-salt and foxfire marrow, which is aged in heliotropic kilns.
Ammunition Types
The Ampoule loads were made for specific uses, please see products produced but not limited to:- Dawnspark: Its main purpose is anti-Undeads, which typically leaves a holy scorch. It works best after Sarenrae's priests were involved in the anointing.
- Suncleave: It does substantial damage on armor seams and chains; Initially commissioned by the Unquestionable Superiority of the Imperator, the long way of trade throughout Abaisgar made it very rare and more commisioned now by Confederacy of Siril using Stronmaus priests and to a lesser extent, Heliosi priests, which have a permanent lodging in the Gnomir.
- Foxfire: Dazling and marking load which has low possibility to become lethal, which paints foes in harmless blue flame as well as dazzles. It is manufactured by Pheistus artificers.
- Brineflare: Being used in underwater vicinity, it works as a cavitation bite vs kelp, nets and swarms of fishes. It has also a variant to use against swarms inorder to clean infestations or locusts.
- Slowdrill: Its a slow regeant which works slow and have high-hat spot for breaching locks and barnacles. Also used to put someone on flames in the rarer cases.
- Nightstar: Its a rune-discordant flare, which is used to blind and also have lightning in dark vicinities for long periods.

Rarity
First commissioned by the Protecting Wings of Arasil to burst alchemical flasks from the saddle; Gnomir artisans later compacted the projector into a lance head for boarding, tunnel fighting, and monster control. Licensed batches now arm Grand Armies of the Araso, Kalkuun warbands, Khazad-Ram military forces and Khazad-Ram tunnel wards.
Those licenses are not used at mass, as they cannot mass-produce it at large scale able to defeat armies as they take alot of time to manufacture because of the Anointing process.
