Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
A Prayer Shouter is a type of Hantzuistic cleric of Strebetris which serves as a mediator between worshippers and their deities.

Perception

Purpose

Much like their god, prayer shouters have multiple roles and fulfill several functions. First and foremost, they shout prayers on a petitioner’s behalf if said petitioner believes their prayers are not being heard; for example, a farmer may ask to shout a prayer to Thea if they are disatisfied witb their crop yields, or a wetnurse may ask to shout a prayer to Imon if a baby wouldn’t sleep.   Additionally, as Hantzuistic clerics, prayer shouters are expected to ensure worshippers choose a path and advise them on which path to take. Most prayer shouters advise walking towards Serenity by Seven, ensuring that the petitioner worships seven gods; Greatness by Pride, loudly proclaiming the petitioner’s fortes; or Desire by Resolution, admonishing the petitioner for not acting on their ambitions.

Demographics

Prayer shouters are wandering hermits who live austere lives; as such, prayer shouting tends to primarily appeal to clerics who come from traditionally nomadic societies such as Bascaxi or Yorgai.

Societal Role

Prayer shouters provide a single eponymus service - shouting prayers. The only payment they may accept and charge for this service is food, lodging, and bathing.   The most important tools used by prayer shouters are the beilembor, a sort of leather drum, and their shuur, a spiked chain which is loaded with metal strips that clang against the chain.
