Ernhaven Harvest Festival
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The Ernhaven Harvest Festival is a semi-religious festival held annualy in the Duchy of Ernhaven. The festival is held at the last tenday of Mother’s Gift, and is the culmination of all other harvest festivals around Lake Kadia.
Components and tools
Each bishop attending the festival brings a relic from their bishopric, along with a portion of their recent harvest. While the number of bishoprics can vary depending on the current political landscape of the Andorian Church, three relics are considered central to the ceremony:
Sickle of Saint Raenus, which is kept by the Arch Bishop of Nymm.
Sourdough Head of the First Harvest, which is kept in the bishopric of Roxmore.
The Seed Reliquary, which is kept in the bishopric of Acqollis.
Participants
All inhabitants of the duchy and the Kadian Dominion as a whole, as well as all members of the Andorian Church, are welcome to attend, with most participants being commoners. The main officiants are the bishops of Nymm and, most importantly, the Arch Bishop of Nymm. Members of the Agyer church often make pilgrimages to be part of the celebration.
Execution
The festival’s ritual begins with the Arch Bishop harvesting the final sheaf of grain using the Sickle of Saint Raenus. The Sourdough Head of the First Harvest is then offered to attendees, who may take a portion of it. Finally, seeds from the Seed Reliquary are ceremonially planted, symbolizing the start of a new cycle.
