Merchant Princes
The merchant princes were once part of the O.E.F. and were one of the lucky few to not be present the day they're kingdom was attacked again. They rushed to help out but saw no one, as all had left to seek shelter for the night or to get revenge. So they left as well, sailing to Zaffara and establishing trade with the eastern dwarves, elves and dedkyn.
Culture
Changed somewhat from their days in Ashenia, the Prince's adopted the use of coin from others they'd met in their travels. They saw the importance and strength born from such a small thing, and adapted to it. They used their own hunting, fishing and tracking skills for animals and plants to fund their island kingdom. Now they hire people to do all the work for them.
The once hardened and weathered sailors, clad in armor and weapons. Now wear light robes made from foreign silks, tusks adorned in fine metals, instead of barking from the crow's nest they delegate from palaces on high. They're skill that brought them fortune, though no longer used for their own gain, are sharpened in private practice.

Public Agenda
The Merchant Princes are as one would guess, merchants. Tradesmen, heavily focused on the collection of coin and profit to empower their lands and people.
History
The Merchant Princes were led by an Orsaian named Dhuogga Verdant, unusual only for the reason that he was an Ogre. Ogre's were regularly found in infantry, or in siegecraft for their dependable knack of destroying their enemies as well as the walls that protected them. But Dhuogga found his cadence among the seas chorus. His skills as a captain were undeniable, but some still did not accept this. As a certain number of orcs under his command felt he was out of place. They held the position that Orcs were most fit to lead and coveted his position.
But his excellency made him irreplaceable, and he had more support in his crew than not, so mutiny meant death for his detractors. So when they returned to back to Ashenia and saw the destruction, his jealous underlings saw their opportunity. They had planned to steal the ship once they landed, but Dhuogga turned back, foiling their plans. As they returned to the land they discovered, they began to start anew. Building what they thought was the last bastion of Orsai, naming it Swan Song.
They soon discovered the Dwarves of the east, and the humans on other nearby islands. Showing their hunting prowess and establishing good relations by trading large amounts of food, furs, fish and beasts of burden. They quickly found wealth and security, Dhuogga was always at the head of these negotiations and was praised for it. This was the last straw for the would be traitors. As a rising tide lifts all boats, they too found wealth from the booming trades. They had their own ships, and once ready, set fire to the boats of Dhuogga's supporters, stole as many goods as possible and disappeared into the horizon.
Dhuogga had figured out their plot, and replaced all the goods with cheaply made fakes and hidden the originals. He lost his boats but those were easily replaced, but he hadn't lost a single person in the theft, which endeared him evermore to his people. After new boats were made, the people named Dhuogga king, and his sons and daughters would become the many princes and princesses that now rule the ever prosperous mercantile cities of Swan Song.
