The Void Entity

The Void Entity is a term used to describe a seemingly sapient presence encountered within the spirit realm by the druid Ash.

The being was perceived simultaneously as an absence of all light, colour, and matter in the vast sea of the spirit realm, and as a single, colossal, burning doorway into a mind of unknowable origin and intent. It seemed to exhibit intelligence and intent as it drew the druid Ash's spirit from his body and into its own realm or being.

Once Ash had been separated from his physical form, the entity was able to take control of or implant some new consciousness within the druid's body. Under the entity's control, this new consciousness carried out the will of The Void in covertly manipulating events and assassinating Bishop Gaspar Nurest of The Order of the Ancient Heart.

Ash, his spirit trapped in this strange realm, was able to relinquish some portion of his independence to merge into The Void Entity, where he was able to intuit and experience a variety of information as it was understood and known to the entity.

To gain a true and complete understanding of this presence, this void, would perhaps be impossible. At the very least, it might require such integration to achieve that one would cease to exist independent from it. However, there are some aspects that can be determined.

• It possesses a will. Whether innate or conscious, it has a drive to protect and propagate itself, and is willing and capable of influencing, manipulating, possessing, and even destroying others to achieve its goals.
• It is purely spiritual, and does not posses any physical form of its own, though is evidently capable of acquiring one in some capacity. You get the impression that it never did have its own individual form, but that it is not altogether unfamiliar with the premise, though it is not a unified familiarity, as though it were comprised of many experiences within the physical realms.
• The compulsion you yourself have felt, the nature of the possessing spirit, and of that guiding light that brought you here all suggest that the entity may be comprised of multiple lesser entities, or at least distinct aspects. It is possible that these entities have been gathered over time in a similar way that you yourself have joined with the being.
