Primrose Eaton

Primrose Eaton is the current Steward of The City, the leader of government. This is a position she previously held in 3572-3574 PL, and has currently held since 3586 PL.

Description

Primrose is a half-elven woman of sharp and stern features, and grey-brown hair which she typically keeps relatively short. She is intelligent, sharp of tongue, and quick witted.

History

Primrose Eaton was born in 3509 in The City, to her parents Gullivander and Dulcetta Eaton. She was educated and trained as a scribe and spent most of her pre-political career working within the Provisions system as a clerk and administrator.

Primrose served as a member of the Ministry of Structures and Districts from 3546 to 3554 PL, becoming one of their Forum representatives in 3549 PL. She quickly developed a reputation as a strong policy maker, efficient administrator, and no-nonsense minister.

She was a founding member of the Ministry of Communications in 3554 PL, which she has served as a governing member of ever since (with the exceptions of her time as Steward). The ministry was established to create, monitor, foster, and manage publications and communications being manufactured and distributed throughout The City. Her programs have been credited with a modern boon of literacy within all levels of the population.

She was elected by The Forum to the position of The Steward in a large majority vote for her first term in 3572 PL. Though she would only hold the position for less than two years (a below average term length), she was considered to be well suited to the role, and commended by many of her peers as being one of the most effective and efficient Stewards, particularly in her administrative duties and Ministry relations.

Her perceived poor initial management of the Rust Lung crisis of 3574 PL saw her swiftly replaced by the more decisive figure of Kenron Perkham, a particularly impactful deposal given her father's succumbing to the disease later the same year. Primrose returned to her position within the Ministry of Communications, serving as their Forum representative through Perkham's tenture and that of his successor, Carter Marl Abbessy IV.

In 3586 PL, Primrose successfully campaigned for her return to the position of Steward, though some of her opponents criticised her alleged use of propaganda and marketing as an abuse of her position within the Ministry of Communications.
