Cannard Noz
The Cannard Noz are a group of washerwomen that are the subject of stories and myth within the communities of the Southern Wildlands, particularly those along the Maga River.
The three washerwomen are said to sometimes appear by the river at midnight, and are a portent of death seen to be washing the bloodstained clothes of those about to die.
While the stories vary, the general advice is to avoid being seen by them, and if you are, you ought to help them wring the clothes out to avoid your own doom.
