What are Swaivshon?

Swaivshon are quadrupedal furred dragons strongly associated with the cold north of Theoma, and more generally with cold climates wherever they arise. Their fur colors vary quite widely in shade and pattern, though they are often drawn from a pastel palette. They do not ever have fins, but their particular arrangement of horns does vary and helps distinguish individuals.

Any description of the Swaivshon is incomplete without a mention of their affectionate social psychology. Swaivshon have a strong psychological need for touch, and despite their size almost every one of them is a terribly gentle person.

What is the magical gift of the Swaivshon?

Swaivshon blunt all elemental geomancy directed at them. This not only makes them distinctively resistant to common forms of "combat magic", it extends even to 'natural' geomancy as exerted by the land gods. This means that they rarely get burns or frostbite as they resist the energies that would inflict them, and even the wind is unlikely to push them off course. While they are not truly immune to elemental hazards, they are very lucky with them, and it is unusual for Swaivshon to fear flying in a storm.

Where do Swaivshon prefer to establish their settlements?

The Swaivshon are prone to establishing their settlements wherever they can find or create suitable ground for deep foundations. Their association with the far north does create some challenge here as the permafrost defies being suitable ground, yet by persistence, magic, and massive digging projects, the creation of suitable ground proceeds regardless.

They are renowned for their massive integrated architectural projects, and entire Swaivshon villages may dwell in a single mansion complex. Where multiple such buildings are built near each other, they will often grow together to share infrastructure. Where many of them exist near each other, the nexuses create truly spectacular market grounds. Architecture is a common fixation among the Swaivshon; a modern mind would note what they create as a kind of micro-arcology system. As the land gods encourage and support this endeavor, the most established Swaivshon cities are not building micro-arcologies anymore.

Swaivshon architecture is something of the worst kept secret of the frigid lands. Rumors of massive buildings in Kelkaith draw visitors from far away, yet people tend to disbelieve in the tales!
