"Jewel" Theomes and Region Clusters

What is a Region Cluster?

Most of the over ten thousand polities of Theoma are clustered roughly into regions as a way to produce an almost-manageable way to refer to places. This is mostly a custom which simplifies studying a particular cluster of theomes, but a few of the region clusters are entire nations in their own right. A very few of them are even provinces of Theoma's few large nations.

What is a Jewel Theome?

Every continent has a number of "Jewel" theomes, and even the Deathwall has some. What is a jewel theome? It's not a formal theome classification. It's more of an acknowledgment that a theome is central to a region combined with an acknowledgment of fame. Renowned theomes are also jewels if they occur centrally to a cluster of other theomes. What is central? That is highly arbitrary. Usually, the jewel comes first to define the region, but some region cluster are defined by the other region clusters around them with their jewels being defined last. Looking up region clusters in the libraries of Theoma is easier if one knows the jewel of the cluster already.

How about the Deathwall? Isn't it mostly a barren storm of necromantic energy? That's correct. In the Deathwall, any habitable theome is called a Jewel, and they're farther from each other than Jewels across the rest of Theoma. They're so obscure that they gain fame from obscurity, as knowing the Jewels in the Deathwall is a kind of way to boast about obscure geographic knowledge.

Regardless of where they arise, Jewel theomes usually host a Fate Beacon which in some way affects the flow of Fate all across Theoma. This includes the Deathwall theomes.
