Zero Year

The known events that transpired during Zero Year, a period of time between the first and second age. Though it is unknown how long Zero Year actually was, many events can be confirmed to have existed during this time thanks to their pre-dating the beginning of recorded history, but seemingly happening after the fall of Old Drataria.

    The Fall of Drataria
    Disbandment

Drataria, the ancient kingdom that once spanned a majority of Arith and Ardina, falls into chaos after the death of Allmaker Rugo and the ascension of the new Stormlord. As the Sunfire Legion retreated into the Voletarian Mountains and many ascended with their general, infighting and corruption plagued the rest of the world. New warlords rose up, claiming cities like Jak and Bloom(its Dratarian name has been lost to time) to try and rebuild the empire, but each doomed to fail. The Ardina cities cut off contact with the east, and eventually all hope of bringing Drataria back faded away.

    Desecation of Karadia
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

An alliance between Jivu of the Yellow Sands, Jani the Almighty, and the green dragon Duzzof use an unknown spell to desiccate a majority of Karadia, one of the ancient Dratarian provinces taking up a majority of southern Ardina. Mountains are leveled, allowing Jivu's once small desert to spread throughout the continent. The Jungle of Karad is drained of its life, the energy it once contained whisked away by Duzzof as he fled to Aridace to avoid retaliation. Jani then used wish magic to curse the desert, naming it the Grey Wastes and leaving it almost uninhabitable save for a pair of lakes at its center. Their reasoning has never been discovered, but Karadia never recovered from the loss of nearly eighty percent of their territory.

    The Ysaran Conflict
    Geological / environmental event

Three of the great Leviathans from the far west-Reta, Plania, and Jeral-were displaced by The Warping, finding themselves brought to the continent of Ardina. These intelligent beasts had never been approached by the Dratarian civilization, as their mere size alone would allow them to level countries with a touch. They engaged in battle over northern Ardina, as territorial creatures so often do, but are interrupted by the legendary orcish hero Ukus gro-Bura. Ukus warned them to stay away from the Highlands, a region of land that had long remained under orcish sovereignty. Jeral probed the tiny orc's mind, and finding the man entirely confident in his ability to defeat these other-worldly creatures, felt a cold fear grip his heart. Thanks to his belief in Ukus's strength, the three agreed to the demand, leaving the Highlands untouched. All three titans eventually succumbed to their wounds, and their incredible lifeforces fused with the earth below, forming the three largest regions of northern Ardina: the Reta Woodlands, the Planic Range, and the Jeral Mountains.
