Named for the Dratarian nation that once ruled most of the discovered world, most of the powerful artifacts and ancient gods arose from this secretive time. It ended with the Dratarian civilization, and the time between the end of the Dratarian Age and the beginning of Second Age is referred to as the Zero Year. Despite many scholars agonizing over this period of time, it is currently unknown how long the Zero Year lasted.

As a result of the surrounding nations nonstop warmongering, Emperor Zerichar found a pacifist nation like Sharrven far too tempting a target to pass by. His forces swarmed across the border with order to "burn it all, flesh and stone". The Virithian elves escaped into the Sel Ath Tel'adar and the city of Ancalen warped itself back into the Feywild, all those living in the Autmnwood and the Ven Lowlands either fled or were slaughtered. Many satelite nations were eventually developed, but none could compare to the culture drowned in the blood of millions from Sharrven.
The Age of Ancients is marked with the birth of many civilizations that can still be seen today. The Old Guard, a race of divinely inspired guides, was sent to nurture the young kingdoms towards the worship of the gods, marking the beginning of recorded history. This long and storied age ended with the founding of the Free Cities, a union of city states on the continent of Arith, ending the first major war that encompassed multiple continents.
The Old Guard are created by a number of the gods in order to end Zero Year and bring about a new age. They brought the common language to the world, as well as the importance of historical records. From this point on, organizations such as the Podsen Orderlies and the Imperial Scholars maintained detailed accounts of global events.
The Girdellan Empire is founded as the first emperor, whose name has been lost to history thanks to the Battle of Red Peaks, conquers the Octavian Dynasty and names Octavan its first Annex.
After a war with the Frigid Legion that began a few years after the Elven Genocide, the Firelords estimated they had one battle left before they crumbled under Zima's forces. While their capitol Ortheid fell, they gave their lives in a heroic ritual, raising a magical wall of force around their entire nation, trapping both themselves and the Frigid Legion within. These wards became known as The Northern Wards, and the Snow Elves eventually faded into obscurity.
Creighton, one of the Young Gods, expanded her power by claiming the domain the The Void, a forbidden domain that both the Old Gods and Khoran agreed to keep unclaimed. The void goddess was responsible for the deaths of 3 gods before Khoran, Imba, and Tyr managed to curse her with all-consuming lethargy, effectively defeating her before she could take more lives.
The last descendant of Khora Voletaria is slain with Red Obsidian, and the assassin escapes undetected. The line of Voletaria is ended.
During Creighton's Rebellion, the Voidmother infects the Syster Tree of Tarrostov with a vile curse, causing the druids worshipping there to begin mutating into beasts. The nature goddess Vydona uses the whole of her divine power to banish Creighton, giving her life to make sure the curse cannot be completed. The mutated druids remain in a state of beasthood, however, becoming the Beast Folk that inhabit many corners of Thelekar today.
In order to repel Emperor Xarkanas's invasion, the 17 southern cities of Arith united under Lord Allisant Rhannor, forming the Free Cities Alliance and holding back the Draican army.
It was during this age that the Empire of Flowers was founded. After discovering the fully intact Dratarian city of Jak and the many powerful treasures it held, the first segment of the soon to be world power made its debut during the Battle of the Bloom. After their victory over the armies that faced them, the Rosa soldiers marched and conquered most of the Stem, founding the Imperia Rosa, the capitol province of the soon to be Empire of Flowers. This age ended when the Great Beasts of the Seishin-realm migrated into Thelekar and began amassing followers, marking the arrival of the monastic arts.
As the Beast Folk of the Tarastov Woodlands attempt to flee Cortus, the Girdellan Empire sends their legion into the forest to hunt them down. The Lycanar and Vulpanar stay behind to hold off the attack while the rest of the Beastfolk flee, laying into the heavily armored soldiers with fang and claw. The battle is bloody and costly, with both the Girdellan legion and the canine clans losing a majority of their numbers. The legion returns to Girdella, defeated and humiliated, while the surviving Lycanar and Vuplanar spread throughout Cortus, becoming a regular sight amongst the populace.
The first Lord Rosa discovers the ancient Dratarian city of Jak, a perfectly preserved and fully armed fortress city that was originally hidden under a lake. He put his smiths to work converting the Dratarian armor and weapons to be utilized by his own army and began a conquest across Arith. With the largest empire at the time, the Girdellan Empire, still suffering from their monumental loss during the Night of Blood, nothing could stop Lord Rosa from conquering the continent. Treaties of Non-Aggression are signed with Tarrostov, Voletaria, and Fortis, leaving the rest of Eastern Arith to become Imperium Rosa, the first portion of the soon-to-be World Garden Empire.
General Halamir Qildor forges an alliance with the Insurgent Xarkanas and recalls the elven armies that were once scattered during the genocide centuries ago. Together, they reclaimed the Ven Lowlands and forged a new nation, the Kingdom of Cremmevia, a place for all elves no matter the bloodline. They established an alliance with the new Overlord of Draica, who would eventually became known as Emperor Xarkanas.
Gaius Carius, former Imperial Battlemage of Emperor Titus Rosa, steals one of the forbidden tomes from the Imperial Annals and teaches his disciples hidden teleportation spells, starting the anti-imperial group now known as the Navigators.
Adam Eberhardt's squire is executed by High Lord Gehrman, and Adam escapes Calyra before he is also sent to the block. Voletaria withdraws from the Free Cities and begins preparations for war, eventually joining Aristea's Rebellion.
The Age of Kings was the height of humanity's power. Rising above their elven cousins, the Free Cities became united under the rebel princess Aristea, and after her death the cities she had united became governed by the Order of Aristea. This eventually led to the entirety of Arith, minus the jungles of Lorain, becoming united under one governing body. This golden age of humanity ended, however, with the arrival of the Cindirian Plague: a horrible sickness that only targeted full-blooded humans and violently killed them within mere days. The sickness was eventually halted, but not before the Order lost control of the continent and civil war ensued. The Age of Kings ended with the supposed arrival of a god child and the return of the Voletarian Royal Family in the form of Khoran, a child carried to the surface of Arith in the arms of one of the Stormguard.
The Rebel Princess Aristea of Crifux takes up the mighty Chain-breaker Blade and overthrows Highlord Gherman, ending the Coalition of Free Cities and the Arith slave trade. Upon her death, the Order of Aristea becomes the governing body for a majority of Arith, excluding the Lorain Jungle.
Qilradi the Emberlord reigned as the king of Aradaceir since he killed Zarak during the Age of Ancients. However, many grew tires of his rash actions and constant warring with the west, though none could match his strength to stop him. Curvar, the dragonlord of Witehold, waited until he had an opportunity to attack his king, and he waited for nearly 1,000 years before that opportunity presented itself. Qildari planned to form an alliance with Agder in order to crush the Order of Aristea, the main force opposing his conquest of the world. Once Qildari arrived in Witehold, the closest city to Agder, Curvar used his home terrain advantage to defeat the once thought invincible Qildari. Though none can be certain, draconian soldiers have whispered that Curvar was so strong he was able to freeze the very fire Qildari breathed within a pillar of ice.

Emperor Xarkanas is slain by Maireed, champion of the Stormlord, ending his reign that began some time during Zero Year.
As the current age, the Fifth Age has only lasted for about 51 years so far. However, tensions have never been higher. The Order of Ariestea has been reformed uniting the Principality of Craxus, Holy Lorain, the Rhannor Holdings under the newly reformed Voletarian Dynasty. War has begun between this alliance and the Morose Pact, and both sides are wary of the Judicary Pact and the Empire of Flowers. It is in this uncertain age that a group of ragtag adventurers find themselves with the fates of millions of lives resting on their shoulders.
Khoran sends a member of his Stormguard to carry an infant of his blood to Voletaria, arriving in the rubble of the Church of the Storm. Much of the city had been damaged during the Cindrian Plague, and Pontiff Ukko II used his arrival as a way to raise moral in the populace. The name Kora is the Voletarian translation of Khoran, originally named in the Dratarian tongue.
Lord Shallsber unites the disparate clans of Lorain under one flag and swears fealty to the Young King Kora, joining the Order and lending his sizable army to the cause.
Urzog Tusklord and his men declare Bluewatch free from Holy Lorain's control, declaring their intention to join Agder. Lord Shallsber marches north with his Ironshell Paladins, as well as feinforcements from Voletaria, and lays siege to the city. The populace within the city, unhappy that Urzog claimed their home for a foreign nation, rise up and open the gates for Shallsber's forces. Urzog and his men are imprisoned, and Holy Lorain is once again united.
The Young King Kora Voletaria sets out from his city, entering the Voletarian wilderness with nothing but the clothes on his back and a swordspear, an ancient Voletarian rite of passage known as The Proving. If he returns, he has proven himself a worthy heir of the throne. If not, that answers the question directly. The Proving may take years, and Kora's is not different; he must find a creature to defeat or a cause to uplift that will cement his name in legends for centuries to come.
Under an unknown leader, the armies of Draica once again push into the eastern half of Hraldi's Brace, the city they share with Cremmevia. Cremmevia calls for the aid of the Order of Aristea, their long time ally, and war begins.
Known necromancer and murderer Quintus Gration raises a dragon skeleton in the caverns below Eaglecrest, causing it to rise from the earth and burn down the Sunbird Tree. The city is slaughtered and raised as a skeleton horde, and Quintus escapes with help from an unknown teleportation expert.
The Chain, as well as members of the Dead Rose's Crew, entered the Alabaster Ruins and engaged in battle with an avatar of Zima. This avatar was summoned by Quintus Gratian using a dagger of Planar Binding, and attempted to prevent them from freeing the Primordial Phoenix Deja. The avatar proved unsuccessful, as Elorin freed his patron and the Northern Wards were restored. Zima's machinations were halted and the final remnants of the Frigid Legion were destroyed, finally ending the War of the North.
The Chain, fresh off their side quest in real estate and town building, gather their allies to thwart the Red Sky prophecy from taking place. After slaying the Cosmic Orphan and freeing Kirith Sotheril to take her revenge on The Stranger, there is a rash of killings across the continent of corrupt politicians who were suspected of being members of the Court. All were killed with a single bullet to the heart.
A prince, a priest, a brawler, and a wealthy heiress uncover a conspiracy by the Church of Hope to summon and bind A Greater Power, using its cosmic abilities to create a living god within the Divine Gate. Thanks to their efforts, they managed to kill the god as it was born and exposed the Church's corruption for all to see. After some minor civil war, the house of Khilkov was returned to its station and went to work cleaning the church of all corrupt members it could find. The four heroes became known as The Verdict.
In the undercity of the Androsi Bay, the Far Riders engaged the Cult of Pain in pitched battle, clashing swords in front of an open hole in the Divine Gate. Thanks to the heroic sacrifice of Kristopher Khilkov and Aldrich Katzengnade, the adventuring party was able to fight back the Lady of Pain's avatar, forcing her back through the portal which they closed behind them. Diosa Wilhelmina and Duma gro Bikrul went on to begin working on a cross-continent network of informants who would keep an eye out for further incursions from the Outer Realm, given the recent rise in such invasions.
A glowing orb of raw magic, blood, and fire forms in the center of Alsa Thalas, obliterating the city below and beginning to expand. Luckily, a group of heroes now known as The Vanguard managed to seal it, and began travelling across the continent to close more and more sub-rifts that have opened ever since.
