The Judicator
The Judicator Velka
Velka VII
The Judicator is a mantle that has been claimed by many great warriors throughout history. Unlike many of the Old Gods who have held their mantles tightly, The Judicator has gone through at least seven different warriors known to the ancient texts. While they were all the premier fighters of their time, the wheel of battle always turns, and someone greater always rises. When Velka rode upon Aravandor with the Sunfire Legion, her ferocity in battle attracted the attention of Ridley VI, the Judicator of the time. The two left the battlefield, both doffing their divine blessings and armor, facing each other in ritualistic combat with mundane swords and nothing but their tunics to protect their bodies. The battle was ferocious, lasting for hours after the new Stormlord had claimed victory over the God-King Maleice. Finally, the minotaur warrior emerged victorious, becoming Velka VII and claiming her new mantle by right of combat. Like all Judicators before her, Velka continued the use of the Wheel of Battle as her holy symbol, carrying the banner on her back and continuing to challenge the best warriors to rise out of the mortals below. Though none have beat her yet, the trend of free agents taking up her name in combat has grown greatly, with many paladins and clerics claiming her divine blessings despite not swearing themselves into any church. As a result of these personal connections, Velka has forgone rebuilding the previous Judicator's church, instead adding to her legend by challenging great beasts and fighters from other realms.
