Ordning

The men of Agder are the sons and daughters of giants, and they will not let you forget it. Despite their consistent wars with their ancient cousins throughout history, they have never broken faith with their creators, choosing instead to fight for the All-Father’s favor and boons. This has led to the formation of the Ordning, mostly at the hands of giants, placing the denizens of Agdane under a strict hierarchy that none were allowed to question. Though they do have a place in the hierarchy, humanity has never stopped trying to redefine it, unsuccessfully.   As a result, Agdane culture is mostly made up of humans as the lowest class, followed by giantkin like ettins and ogres, then hill giants, stone giants, frost giants, fire giants, cloud giants, and storm giants. When the jarls of agdane towns raid southern settlements for resources, it is as a means of paying tithe up the Ordning all the way to whatever Storm Giant calls them their vassal. Each of these tiers has a Giant-God of their own, and all give difference to Annam All-Father, Godchief of Giants. While the lowest god is still above the highest mortal giant, they still follow the Ordning, understanding their place in the hierarchy.
  • Annam All-Father: God of Magic, Learning, Philosophy, and Ferility
  • Grebor Stormking: God of the Sun, Sky, Weather, Joy, and Storm Giants
  • Arodor Cloudshaper: God of Pride, Strength, and Cloud Giants
  • Surtr Cinderking: God of Fire, Craft, Destruction, and Fire Giants
  • Thrymyr Rimelord: God of Ice, Cold, Blizzards, Suffering, and Frost Giants
  • Gexag Stonehammer: God of Mountains, Castles, Metal, and Stone Giants
  • Krubar Hillbreaker: God of Hunting, the Wilds, Hill Giants and Giantkin
  • Tyr the Blind: God of Bravery, Half Giants, War, and Mankind
Additionally, while the Ordning does not allow the worship of other gods within their lands, there are some who are respected enough, or feared enough, to earn a temple within giant cities. These include the Stormlord, the Judicator, the Joyous, and the Dark Rider.
