Infernal Structure

The Infernal Structure is one not officially worshipped by any nation or known faction in Thelekar, instead only recognized by some minor cults or historical texts as a matter of classification. Rather, it is more akin to a family tree. Asmodeus has ruled Baator since oldest minds can remember, referenced in even pre-dratarian historical pieces. He is supreme in his realm, free from the limitations of the Divine Gate, the hosts of Aravandor, the tithes of worship from mortality. His children are gods in their own right, despite lacking divine mantles, and have shown themselves equals to their holy counterparts.   The King of Baator goes by many names in the mortal world, and none of them are devised in good faith. The King of Lies, Snake in the Grass, Saeb the Trickster, The Bogman; none are so insulting to him as God of Man, that which he hates the most. The greatest minds in history have prided themselves on outwitting devils, even those as powerful as his children, but none have ever played a game with Asmodeus and come even close to winning. Nothing would make him happier than the destruction of your mind and ego, beating you so thoroughly and knowing that you not only could never have won, but that you deserved to lose. Every soul he steals, every life he ends, all understand one truth: to Asmodeus, it's always personal. This has earned him and all who serve him a loathsome reputation. He is an evil figure in nearly all pantheons, and someone to be respected and feared in the rest.   The average person, however, can rest easy knowing they are far likelier to have to deal with one of his children, rather than the devil himself. Each of the Bastions of Baator are ruled by his direct descendants: Arioch, Bael, Glasya, and Abrigor. They often war with each other over territory, souls of interest, or influence with their father, but typically leave governing their realms to the strongest of their followers, Archdevils.

Character Creation:

When choosing a patron or deity from this list for your character, you can choose from any of the Archdevils or work with me to create your own. Additionally, any of Asmodeus's children can serve both roles as easily as any other god, though they may require you to act in their interest far more intensely than other gods. Asmodeus himself is not to be chosen if you want your character to live. Nobody makes deals with Asmodeus and has a good, long, happy life ever again. You may choose him, but know going into the campaign that a happy ending is off the table.
