Horse

In the event of a zombie apocalypse, you don't want to use a car, or any motorized vehicle. Cars break up easily, can only use roads to get about and require fuel which, in case you haven't noticed, is not refined anymore. You may think that an armored vehicle would be enough to protect you from the hordes of living deads, but not this one. They can effortlessly rip out the plates of a tank, your barb wire won't stop any Necrotized. No, cars are things of the past, as heartbreaking as it is. The future is horsey. Let me make a comprehensive list about why horseriding could save you in a zombie apocalypse and how much I regret not learning it earlier, when it wasn't a life or death situation.

Still faster than by foot

Hear me out: horses are faster than people. Shocking news, I know, but when you have to travel long distances for extended periods of time, even at walking speed the horse will get you there faster, and even if we're not in a rush, it's still nice. Plus, we tire less than if we were the ones doing the walking.

Easy fuel

That's food. You and them, they eat the same thing. So yeah that means you have to share what keeps you alive, but at the same time that frees you from having to find a second type of supplies.

Danger detector

Animals usually have a better sixth sense than us poor glorified apes. When a necrotized is in the vicinity, they can sense it somehow, and become restless. We learnt to listen to our mounts, and it saved our lifes more than once.

Good company

I mean, that accounts for something. You trust the mount, and the mount trusts you, so you develop a bond that grows stronger with each adversity that you go through, and makes the last point all the more difficult.

Bait

Let's say you're about to be overrun by a mob of hungry dead-but-not-enough beasts, feral for flesh. It doesn't have to be yours, it can be anyone's. So when you have no other choice, the horse can become a sacrifice for you to make your escape. Man, I really hope we don't have to get to this point. I love my Blueberry.
