Summer Camp Tracker 2023
Welcome to my Summer Camp Zamarrid Exploration!
For 2023 Summer Camp my first rendition of this I will be setting a goal of silver ranking for myself, to try to stretch for Gold and beyond where I can. As this will be my first summer camp and my first attempt at place documents outside of a word document that only I read, I'm incredibly excited to see what I can form together.
I'm currently writing a personal novel involving this place, but would enjoy in the future just completely separate timelines where the players are the actors in a d&d campaign. Class and Stat blocks will take a back seat as I try to embrace a grandiose style, which history is told with reverence and metaphors.
Summer Camp 2023
Let's get started with a quick introduction to the world of Alyah, Alyah is world covered in the ruins of a kingdom of Sahagin having died even before the first god was sprouted into existence their ruins are filled with ancient treasures and secrets that the people of the Alyah are still figuring out. While the world has many different adventures and kingdoms to tell over majority of the work this summer camp will be done around the City of Zamarrid. Zamarrid is a new trade city on the western side of the continent on a desert peninsula under constant threat from the expanding Imperium to their east, Zamarrid is run by a council of its citizens, under the eye of a power magus who has repelled the Imperium 150 years ago. The city became a major focal point for new goings on in the world as a the city remains home to the only three teleportation circles known as "The Rings" in the world. They've connected the world to a new species of islander elves not seen before, the southern Dwarven kingdom and the ancient Tengu from the Eastern mountain.
Some tones I expect to build on,
Wealth distribution gap where the Trade Triads have monopolized a good portion of the cities exploding trade and the struggle to break out of that, the general consensus is while finding work is easy, finding good work is hard.
Exploration digging through the city, deserts and seas, The ancient world isn't gone and it's struggling to come back.
If the manuscript chapters get posted during the Summer Camp, I want to tie in as many chapters as on a themes of love & compassion, this place can feel pretty grim at times, but want to talk about the most is how important is to care about caring for each other despite the grim world.
The biggest tone I want to set, is grim but hopeful.
Summer Camp 2023
Theme : POWER
Preparations : There are two power prominent dynamics I intend to focus on in the city of Zamarrid, The first is power of the imperium military and navy while the city itself has been able to avoid direct conflict due to the magus magical show of force circa 150 years ago, the areas and people around it have not been spared the imperium's hunger for more resources to feed their growing empire and it seems inevitable that the conflict will spread in to the city either directly or indirectly. The second I'll be focusing on is wealth distribution inside the city Zamarrid, despite its is booming economically growth as new resources and craftsman have become available and its unique trading and communication position that have turn it into wealth center, the trade triads of three powerful merchant guilds are using predatory practices to maintain and expand their wealth creating a large disparity between it citizens.

Preparations : Zamarrid has access to three of primary different frontiers as itself is a new factor in the world, there are of course many smaller ones but these three are the central focus. First, this includes the desert peninsula it resides on as new Sahagin ruins which are appearing due to a large strange red dust sandstorm gripping the desert, Second, The first know portals of any kind have been open and sit inside Zamarrid's Grand Bazaar. One of these portals is connected to elven islands and while there has been contact between the Elves and Zamarrid in the first few hundred years there are still a lot of unanswered questions to be answered about their mysterious Viyah waters that can restore and improve on magical items and the "final" frontier is one of conflict as the imperial expansion is happening at breakneck speed all along prosperity bay small tribes and factions are struggling to hold onto any resources they've acquired many still fear the imperium after the merfolk genocide not but a generation ago.

Theme: Relics
Preparations: There are many sources of relics across the world, There the divine one given, taken or found that source from gods and divine dragons. Each has immerse magical powers, the most relevant example to the Zamarrid is the Bident of Baharren once belonging to the deceased god of sailors and merchants it has become the symbol of the emperor of the imperium. While also the Sahagin ruins are known to be a source of ancient magics relics of light and dark from before the gods era. Thus finding these relics has become a mainstay in all parts of the world, and so a worldwide order The Recorded Truth has established for seeking and preserving these ancient relics despite the dangers of investigating inside ancient ruins filled with horrors of a painful time. For control of these relics will impact all of Alyah, regardless if those who obtain them are good or evil. Prompts Tracked 0/8
Theme: Communication
Preparations: While magic may be common throughout the world, the high elves of the eternal forest have an expression. "Magic is a candle." This encompasses a phenomena that occurs all across Alyah, magic tends to fall apart when when moving far from where it was cast and the further it moves the more likely it is to fail. (see the Candle Law Article for more information). This has made Zamarrid such a unique feature in the world The Ring are unlike anything else. The rest of the world relays on mostly traveling people to send its letters, no matter if its a horseback rider, flying tengu, or ships delivering delivering messages between its far places is a time consuming process, but with Zamarrid's new portals the northern and southern parts of the world are starting to conect quicker than ever, this leaves formally more prestige places like the high elven eternal forest located in the center of the continent left in a frustrating position.
