The Veiled Queen (Kelsie Windrunner)
The greatest of the three Shai High Council members, The Veiled Queen is also referred to as Lady Gold. Her true name is Hikiri Windrunner, although this is a secret the queen holds very close to herself. The Veiled Queen acts as the guiding hand of the shai council. Her nine daughters currently compete for favor amongst the Shai populace, as the greatest of the nine will take her place as the next Lady Gold.
Hikiri is downright cold towards the majority of outsiders, far more interested in the opinions of her people then those of other cultures. However she has done many great things to bring peace to the universe, including brokering a peace treaty between the tanen citizens of Wyrmrest and the shai citizens of Shaia. This among her other achievements has earned her the respect of her people and her place on the high council.
