Scorlik

The Scorlik, upon first glance, resemble large scorpions. While one would not be faulted for mistaking them as such, they are different in a variety of ways. The first of which being they can speak the common language and have integrated into humanoid society in some areas. Despite oftentimes being mistaken for monsters like the giant scorpion, the Scorlik are anything but. They live in complex tribal societies and have their own traditions and norms.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Similar to that of a scorpion with a few key differences:
  • Six Legs
  • Complex Internal Immune System
  • Speech Capable
  • Shells come in a variety of colors.
  • Genetics and Reproduction

Scorlik are born from eggs. Reproduction is similar to mammals with a few key differences - the birth does not happen live, and instead the fertilized eggs hatch externally.

    Growth Rate & Stages

Scorlik reach maturity at fourteen years of age.

    Ecology and Habitats

Varies depending on the tribe. They have been sited natively anywhere save cold continents and planets.

    Additional Information

    Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Rumor has it that Scorlik have a "sixth sense" that alerts them to danger. While scientifically this has been impossible to confirm, Scorlik oftentimes will mention their sixth sense going off. This is oftentimes a warning to others nearby that there may be danger.
    Conservation Status
While Scorlik were once used as slaves by many races, after intense debate they were eventually (as a race) granted protection and added to the official catalogue of Universal Races, acknowledging them as an intelligent race of beings. See March of the Scorlik for more details.
