Hook Blades

A pair of curved swords usually wielded as sisters. Each blade ends in a fish-hook-like shape, and the grips are surrounded by a piece of sharpened metal that is used as a handguard. A single spike makes up the pommel of each blade. The weapons are most popular on shaia, but popular is not exactly the word most would use to describe them. Wielded by only the best duelists, these blades take years of dedication and practice to truly become well-acquainted with.   Hook blades are unique in that the wielder, so long as they're skilled enough, can quickly link them together by their hooks to give themselves a further reach. The most skilled of hook blade users will constantly switch between these two forms, keeping their opponent guessing as to what their next angle of attack will come from. Each hook blade is specifically built with the purpose of killing in mind - the pommel can be used to stab, the hand guard can slice and cleave and the blades themselves are also incredibly lethal. Because of this no matter how close or far you are from a hook blade user in a standard melee confrontation, they always have an answer to what you're trying to do.
