Bastion of Steel
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you learn how to channel your fury even in the heaviest armor. You gain proficiency in heavy armor, and gain the benefits of raging and the Fast Movement feature even while wearing it.Martial Dominance
Also starting at 3rd level, the wrath of Acheron empowers your fighting style as you rage. You gain one of the following features: Slayer, Warden or Marauder. Slayer. While you're raging and you roll a 1 or 2 on a damage die for an attack you make with a melee weapon that you are wielding with two hands, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll, even if the new roll is a 1 or a 2. The weapon must have the two-handed or versatile property for you to gain this benefit.Additionally, your magically enhanced power can send even mighty creatures reeling, or fell the weak. While raging, when you hit a Huge or smaller creature with a weapon that you are wielding with two hands, you can push it 5 feet away from you. Afterwards, you can immediately move up to your speed to the nearest space within 5 feet of the target. If this attack would leave the target with hit points less than or equal to your barbarian level, you can cause it to immediately die. Warden. While you're raging and a creature you can see attacks you, or a creature within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield.
Additionally, you can turn the force of a blow back on an attacker, assailing them with magical energy channeled through your shield. If an attack roll you impose disadvantage on with this feature hits, you can make a melee weapon attack against the attacker. This attack deals force damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier. Marauder. While you're raging and you engage in two- weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack. You can only add your ability modifier to this damage once. When you use your bonus action to rage while wielding two weapons, you can make a single melee weapon attack as part of the same action.
Additionally, when you hit with a creature with a melee weapon attack made with a bonus action while raging, you can create an echo of yourself that lashes out. The echo deals force damage equal to your Strength modifier + your Rage damage bonus to a different creature within 5 feet of the original target.
Storm of Ocanthus
At 6th level, you can conjure blades from the layer of Ocanthus to surround you in a maelstrom of whirling steel. When you rage, you can choose to summon these blades, which persist until your rage ends. For the duration, attack rolls of ranged weapon attacks have disadvantage against you, and creatures that hit you with a melee attack while within 5 feet of you take 1d6 magical slashing damage. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.Knowledge of Avalas
At 10th level, you can tap into the accumulated experiences of Acheron's legions, granting you an understanding of war unmatched by most scholars. You can add your Constitution modifier to Intelligence checks made to recall information about weapons, armor, practices in warfare, and famous warriors. Additionally, if you spend a full minute meditating on a weapon within 5 feet of you, you can peer into the imprint the last wielder left, learning from them. You can glean one of the following from the weapon (your choice):- The name of the creature that last wielded the weapon in combat.
- Whether the weapon was last wielded with strong intent, such as honor, anger or justice, and what this intent was.
- A vision of the last creature the weapon slew.
