Fettered Weapons
At 3rd level, you have learned the unorthodox fighting style of
the steel serpent. Over the course of 10 minutes, you can
attach a length of chain to a single melee weapon that doesn't
have the two-handed or versatile properties, which becomes a
fettered weapon. A fettered weapon has the following
properties while you wield it:
- It gains the reach property if it didn't already have it.
- It gains the thrown property if it didn't already have it, with a normal range of 20 feet.
- A fettered weapon can't be thrown further than 20 feet.
The chain of a fettered weapon is affixed to your person,
and you can use a bonus action to pull the weapon back into
your grasp if you are no longer wielding it.
Serpent's Strike
Starting at 3rd level, once on each of your turns while you're
raging, when you hit a creature no more than one size larger
than you with a fettered weapon, you can attempt to draw it
closer. The creature must succeed on a Strength (Athletics)
contest against you, or take 1d6 damage of the weapon's type
and be pulled up to 15 feet towards you.
Fool's Noose
Beginning at 6th level, while you're raging and wielding a
fettered weapon, you can use your reaction to capitalize on a
foe's mistake. When a creature within 10 feet of you misses
you with a melee weapon attack, you can force it to make a
Strength saving throw. On a failure, you knock the weapon
used to attack you from its grip, or knock it prone (your
choice). A creature more than one size larger than you
automatically succeeds on the saving throw.
Scaling Serpent
At 10th level, in place of an attack with a fettered weapon, you
can pull yourself up to 15 feet towards a fixed object,
structure, or willing creature within the weapon's range. The
creature can't be smaller than you.
Countless Coils
At 14th level, while you're raging and wielding a fettered
weapon, you can use your action to make a melee attack with
it against any number of creatures within 10 feet of you, with a
separate attack roll for each target. If you are wielding more
than one fettered weapon, you decide which of the weapons is
used for each attack.
