Contain the Fury
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you have
learned to harness your rage, allowing it to be a tool you can
use that provides clarity and discipline. When you enter your
rage, you may choose to instead enter a Focused Rage. In a
Focused Rage you lose all previous benefits and gain the new
ones listed:
- You may add your Rage Damage bonus to the first attack roll you make on your turn if you are using a ranged or finesse weapon.
- Your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a 19 as well as a 20.
- You may take the Disengage action as a bonus action.
Harden the Body
Also at 3rd level, whenever you enter a Focused Rage, you
can no longer use Reckless Attack. Instead, once per turn, if
you hit a creature with an attack, your AC increases by 1 until
the start of your next turn.
Hone the Spirit
At 6th level, your focused and disciplined nature allows you to
shake off most brutal blows and elevate your senses.
Whenever you would get hit by an attack that's considered a
critical hit, you may use your reaction to turn it into a normal
hit. Alternatively, you may use this feature as a bonus action
on your turn to give yourself 30 feet of darkvision for 1
minute. If you already have darkvision then its range is
extended by 30 feet for the duration.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your
Constitution modifier and regain all uses after a long rest.
Feed the Beast
Beginning at 10th level, you have learned to control your rage
but understand the merit of occasionally allowing its reckless
nature to take hold.
Now while in a Focused Rage, when you take the Attack
action and your first attack roll is a hit, you may add your
Rage Damage bonus to the damage roll as well.
Master the Focus
Upon reaching 14th level, your ability to use your rage to
ground yourself rather than give in to easier alternatives has
allowed you to truly reap the rewards of your discipline.
When you activate your rage, you may enter a Battle
Trance. While in this trance, the Rage Damage bonus applies
to all attack rolls while in a Focused Rage and each time you
deal a critical hit on your turn, you regain 3d12 hit points.
Additionally, when you roll initiative and have no more uses
of your Hone the Spirit feature, you regain 1 use.
