College Of Arcane Threads
Bonus Proficiency
When you choose this College at 3rd level you gain
proficiency with Weavers Tools
Spindle of War
At 3rd level, as an action you can expend one use of your
bardic inspiration to summon a number of arcane threads
equal to your charisma modifier. These threads spin around
you for up to 10 minutes or until all of them are used. The
threads can be used for a number of things:
Bind. Make a ranged spell attack on a creature that you
can see within 30ft of you. That creature must make a
dexterity save against your spell save DC or become
grappled. The creature can spend its action to make
another strength or dexterity check against your spell save
dc to break out from the grapple. When the grapple is
broken the thread is to. A creature can help break a thread
that is binding a creature, they must make a strength
check against your spell save dc to break the creature out.
Lacerate. Make a ranged spell attack against a creature
within 30ft that you can see. On a hit that creature takes
slashing damage equal to your bardic inspiration die.
Once a thread is used in this way it breaks.
Cocoon. As a reaction to a creature hitting you with an
targeted attack you can use a thread to absorb some
damage. You may reduce the damage taken by the attack
by your bardic inspiration die + your charisma modifer. If
the damage is reduced to 0 the thread caught the attack.
Once a thread has been used in this way it breaks.
At any one time you can have a number of threads equal to
your charisma modifier + half your bard level in existence.
Woven Armour
Starting at 6th level, you learn to pre-emptivly prepare
defenses using your arcane threads. As a bonus action on
your turn, you can use a number of your arcane threads to
prepare additional armour. You AC increases by the number
of threads you choose to make the armour out of. When you
take damage with this armour one of the threads breaks. The
threads in the armour cannot be used for any other abilites
however you may break add or remove threads from your
armour as a bonus action. You may have a maximum number
of threads in your armour equal to your charisma modifier.
Tempered Silk
By 14th level, your threads have become more resistant to
damage and temperature. Your threads gain resistance to
non-magical, slashing, piercing and bludgeoning damage,
additionally they gain resistance to fire and cold damage.
When you have at least one thread in your woven armour
these resistances are passed onto you. Additionally when
reducing damage using the Cocoon ability the damage
reduced of these types is doubled. Furthermore at 14th level,
your threads have become so persistant that some strings
cannot be destroyed. You always have 1 string in existance at
any given time, and if your last string is destroyed, you
summon another one instantly.
