Circle of the Depths

Bonus Cantrip

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you learn the Shape Water druid cantrip.

Submerged Recovery

Starting at 2nd level, you can regain some of your magical energy by submerging yourself in water and meditating.    During a short rest, you choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your druid level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest. The body of water must contain enough volume to submerge at least half of your body for you to benefit from this feature.

Circle Spells

Your mystical connection to the water infuses you with the ability to cast certain spells. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to circle spells.   Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
Circle of the Depths Spells
Druid level  Circle Spells
3rd  create or destroy water, gust of wind
5th  tidal wave, water walk
7th  control water, freedom of movement
9th  control winds, maelstrom

Aquatic Adept

Starting at 6th level, you gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed, and you can breathe and speak in water as if it were air. If you already possess a swim speed, your swim speed is increased by 10 feet.

Wind Upon the Water

Starting at 10th level, you can cast the Control Winds spell as a ritual. When you do so, the traveling speed of any water-faring vessel upon which you reside is doubled.

Friend of the Deep

At 14th level, you have learned to command the forces of the sea in your defense. You can cast the spell Conjure Animals as if it were cast using a 7th-level spell slot, without expending a spell slot. The creatures summoned when you use the spell in this way must be of the coastal, swamp or underwater environments and must have a natural swim speed.   Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
